“In general, I'm not a fan of Dollar General but I had a DoorDash order. So I found EVERYTHING easy peasy. The store was clean, The shelves were stocked and the prices eh, fairly good. So maybe I'll have to give them a second chance.”
“My Mother in law is 100% Italian and passed away 8 years ago and made authentic meatballs and red gravy. Someone told us about Canatella’s so I bought red gravy and meatballs to try. When my wife took her 1st bite, tears flowed from her eyes and said OMG! This is Concetta’s meatballs and red gravy! I agreed and we buy weekly meatballs eggplant lasagna and the meatloaf is to die for!”
“I was having trouble finding a half caf coffee. Brandon helped me find one, then took me to the vitamin aisle where they had a different one that he recommended. It was great!”

“Good selection and has some of the best hot food in the area I make it a must go to spot when I'm in that area love the hot case they have amazing meatloaf and some top notch chicken plus the prices are not terrible at all plus all there staff is always super happy 10/10 all around”
“Absolutely one of the best Po-Boys in Baton Rouge. My parents have been bringing me here since I was young and they haven’t let me down once in the food or the service. Now that I’m old enough I get general groceries, occasional Po-Boys, and a case of beer for the guys while I’m here and I have never been let down. Totally recommend going to get a Po-Boy at least once here and if you like it you should try to be a regular customer.”
“Think grocery store chicken and deli. Go there with that sort of expectation. I'm talking the first Blue Store level of expectation. Iykyk. With that being said the beans have smoked meat and sausage in them and are seasoned really well. They taste like real beans and not canned. The fried chicken is some of the best. On weekends I don't feel like cooking, we grab a 25 ct and 2 large beans and that usually gets us through Friday & Saturday with enough left to pack for my husband's lunch on Monday. Not bad. 25 wings cost about $26 after tax and 2 large red beans are about $7 total after tax.”
“Extremely busy( I understand being weekend before holiday). Overall I found everything I was shopping for but for three items. Plus ++ they have the Best fried fish and sweet potato casserole.”
“Found this place doing a DoorDash order. Got hungry and decided to get a sausage biscuit while picking up order. and the ladies up front were so sweet and the biscuit omg. soft buttery biscuit was hot fresh and good. Will have to come back soon for a meal
Also didn’t have to wait for DoorDash customers order either. Definitely a 5-star review if not higher”

“I recently visited this store. The gentleman that owns the store is an angel. There is also an older woman who works in the morning and she is sweet as gold. I say this because I always see them giving back or helping somebody. You never know who's watching, and I am no one, But I love Great Customer Service and to acknowledge it.”

“The butcher counter here is epic and well-stocked, with knowledgeable staff and friendly service. If you don’t see what you want they got it in the back. Really good coffee, convenient hours, gumbo in the afternoon. I go once a week to get great cuts of real soul food ingredients - today I got incredibly flavorful beef “bones” for my roasted bone broth. And they offer package specials like 100lbs of various types of meat for $169 and a “Monday Night Game Grilling Special”. Avoid exorbitant high prices for supermarket-grade cuts at “boutique butchers” by visiting Ancona’s 100%!”

“Visit ROUSES for a breakfast after finishing my shift volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul in Baton Rouge. The breakfast was good. Saw other items I purchased also. Store clean.

“What a lovely find in Baton Rouge! I was looking for a place to pick up lunch, the muffuletta was delicious! Quaint little deli carved into this family style grocery store. I could have spent hours in this little gem. Make sure you pick up some of the olive salad, labeled with the Calandro's name. The best around.”

“I really love this Convenience Store! Black Owned and Operated. Nephew is the owner. He is a very respectful, kind young man. Newly opened. They make sure you are satisfied with your shopping experience. If they don't have it, they will get it!! They also have boiled meat's and vegetables on Saturday and Sunday, which is very tasty ? and satisfying! You receive alot of food for a inexpensive price. It's great seeing our young black men become entrepreneurs, and owning business!!! Thank you nephew and uncle for always making me feel comfortable coming to support #BLACKOWNEDBusinesses. “Under the new management, Back Brusly Grocery (now "Back Brusly Grocery Oaks") has been given a fresh new feel (and fill). It's a small convenient store that stocks basic goods such as milk, eggs, a small variety of canned goods, drinks (water, soda, beer, and liquor), and a rather large selection of candy and to-go snacks (a whole 1½ aisle worth!). There is also a selection of frozen meals (mostly boudin, boudin balls, sausage, biscuits, pizza, hot pockets, etc.) and ice cream. On weekday mornings, there is usually a selection of ready-to-eat biscuits (any combination of sausage/ham, egg, cheese) and boudin links...this is very convenient for me to grab breakfast on the way to work.Seasonally, there is crawfish sold in the weekday evenings and weekend hours. And even peeled crawfish tails and crawfish pies in the freezer section!Management is very nice, inside and outside of store is clean and well kept.”
