“This place is awesome! Our doctor recommended this pharmacy to us when he prescribed an ointment that would need to be compounded. Upon entering the pharmacy, I felt safe and comfortable with the precautions in place. The staff was very friendly and explained everything in detail. “On this Thanksgiving holiday; I want to publicly thank both the General Manager (Kevin) and stock associate (CJ) for going over and far beyond the extra mile today! I ran in on one the busiest shopping days to get last minute things. It was pretty busy and rightfully so. At the same time my son (8 months) had just fell asleep for a nap. I wanted to keep him asleep so I opted to push my stroller and pull a basket, at the same time. I was really feeling like a pain in the, you know what, because I was in everybody’s way it felt like. The manager grabbed my basket, which I’d left at the end of the aisle, to only take stroller down the aisle. In the midst of me explaining that I needed both, he replied “I know and you’ve got your hands full… he’s (CJ) going to walk with you.” Wow, Walmart! I was so caught off guard, appreciative, relieved - talk about customer service. To CJ’s parents, job well done! Yes ma’am, no ma’am at all times, respectful and polite. I can’t say thank you enough. Thank you for being observant, thank you for sacrificing whatever CJ was supposed to be doing to lend me a hand. I am so thankful! My son woke up right as we were headed to the checkout. CJ unloaded the groceries at checkout, walked out to my truck with me, and loaded them while I got my son situated. I have never experienced such amazing service at any Walmart in Baton Rouge! There was also a time that my husband was in ICU at the hospital and she went to visit him during a time that was not open for family visiting. “This Walmart is our go to spot for regular groceries. The curbside service is a total game changer. We add things to our list on the app throughout the week and once we hit $35, we schedule a pick up. Our order is nearly always ready at the front end of our pick up window and because of the app, the order is rolling outside as soon as I park! Can't beat that. The folks working the pharmacy are really nice so this is also our pharmacy if choice. Outside of that, the store is always clean and well stocked. I never have an issue of not being able to find what I want in store. And it helps to scan the app ahead of time to see what might not be in stock. I rarely go in store anymore but when I do, I never have to wait in a line because of how many self checkout stations they have. I've always found the staff here to be friendly... total opposite of what I've come to expect from Walmart.They don't have any special, exclusive items... I mean, it's only Walmart. The only reason I dropped a star is because their bakery is nothing to write home about. I find myself preferring many other grocery store bakeries (Rouses, Whole Foods, fresh market, Costco) over Walmart. I think if the bakery was better, I'd go to other places less and buy even more from here. If Aldi or another competitive grocery store opens up nearby, it'll be interesting to see how this Walmart will stack up!”
“Was once the greatest--how is it now? Back then there was no Costco. This place is similar to Costco and hence the comparison---set up is eerily similar as well ---walk in and there's electronics. Go to back left--or the counterclockwise direction and there's stuff then bakery and fruits and d meats etc etc---to me just like Costco. Both places even have a dining area with 1 low priced item to attract you to eat while there. And there's an auto area for tires. It seems not as well lit as Costco. Here are my conclusions---if the stuff you want is more readily available and at a better price at 1 place then that's your go to. If not then it's how you feel. That said, my vibe is that at Costco things move better and you feel like your waiting is minimal (except automotive). At Sam's, I have never dealt with automotive but it seems like checking out is more difficult than Costco and I have not eaten at Sams----always see a line and people waiting so I decide not to wait. Also, in my case, I noticed that there are items for sale at Costco--multiple Asian noodle/soup offerings--which I have only seen 1 at Sam's--overall, I think if you like SAMs then go there--if you like Costco then go there---if you have time then go to both. Sam's is a nice place and deserves our support.”

This store has too many self checkout stations, seems as though Walmart is going in the direction of AI and is pushing out Humans.
