“We had a great experience visiting the Old Louisiana Governor’s Mansion. One of the best parts is that admission is free, which makes it an easy and worthwhile stop if you’re in the area.
The mansion is very accessible, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. Inside, there’s a wealth of fascinating history, especially focused on Louisiana’s 20th-century governors. The exhibits do a great job of bringing that era to life and giving insight into the state’s political and cultural past.
Overall, it’s an informative and enjoyable visit. If you’re interested in history—particularly Louisiana politics—it’s definitely worth checking out.”

“Had my wedding reception here and had the BEST experience!!! Staff were so nice and helpful leading up to the big day. My guests RAVEDDD about the Unique Cuisine catering - the fried catfish, pasta/chicken, jambalaya, beignets, carving station. It was a beautiful spacious environment with lots of parking, a covered drop off, a pretty view of the lakes. The Cook Hotel was so perfect and convenient for guests who didn’t want to drive home. It also made a perfect spot for pictures before the wedding. The in-hotel bar was awesome for the after party! Couldn’t recommend Lod Cook Alumni Center + Cook Hotel enough!”

It was quite with several couples enjoying a quite comfortable moment shared. I was familiar with the menu items and decided to take a chance on the most recognizable items. The fried rice with chicken. It was pretty tasty and good. I love the scenery of over looking the city. Will go there again probably in the spring even though I was inside.

“My friend and I visited this place for an event called Spirit Mansion and we had a lot of fun! Such a nice venue with ample space for things like the show we went to last night. Even from the very back row, you could see the stage. I complimented the beautiful chandeliers and clean bathrooms while we were there. I'd gladly go back for a 2nd visit!”
“Everything was AMAZING!!!!! Shannon and her staff were sooooo accommodating, friendly , and professional. Shannon was just an absolute pleasure to work with. Every step of the way. I’m so so glad we chose to go with Ashley Manor for our wedding. We did an outside ceremony with the reception inside. They helped coordinate and time all the events. The food and drinks were amazing as well. everyone talked about how fantastic the food and drinks were. If I could give 10 stars I would. The absolute best. “Last time I went to this Movie theater, we parked (free) in the parking garage and walked the short walk to it. It is so beautiful. Everyone from ticket sells to concession was so nice and polite. The quality of the sound and large screens were great. There wasn’t any horseplay going on and it was a very pleasant experience. We are returning today to see Downtown Abbey since our Top Hat popcorn buckets came in yesterday. I’m looking forward to another great experience.”

“We had a wonderful experience at Holiday Inn Baton Rouge-South & Convention Center. The staff was welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay.
The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and provided a relaxing atmosphere. Though its a bit dated but that is totally fine, its the peaceful atmosphere and the convenient location what matters most. Any questions or requests we had were handled promptly and with a smile.
I truly appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the entire team. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Baton Rouge. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant experience! ?”

“Great location downtown you can walk to several places. They also have a shuttle. The rooms are nicely appointed but very small. We lucked up on the Mardi Gras parade which was on the street in front of the hotel so you could head down to the street level or stay in your room and observe. I also loved the proximity to the river. There was a small convenience area where I purchased water and a full restaurant which I did not get a chance to visit. The hotel was pretty quiet. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very nice and attentive.”
“Y'all I never been here but had a great time. Description entrance is beautiful, you can rent the place,she have bartenders who is very friendly and know how to mix a drink up, there is a menu you can order, the food is cooked to perfection, all you have to do is get your own DJ and pay rental. This is a black own business by a black woman, I met her. She is nice and truly about her business. The staff is young but very professional, if you are looking for a venue to have a good time at get in touch with her.”

“I’m giving this hotel 4 stars solely due to having to pay for uncovered parking after already paying to be a guest. It’s just very off-putting, especially when there are other hotels in the area with free parking.
Everything else about this hotel is exceptional. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious with a ton of options. The pool area is well-maintained and beautiful. Shower has fantastic water pressure. The wood floors are a really nice touch and the cleanliness is on point.
I would definitely stay here again. But come on y’all, making people pay to park in an uncovered lot with no protection is kind of uncool.”

“I came here for a few days for apartment hunting and thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My favorite aspect of the hotel is the hospitality of the Caribbean staff member, Peter, who overlooked the free breakfast during my stay. Every time I was looking for something, he would immediately ask if I needed help (even though he didn’t need to). I was also alone every morning and he came up to engage in small conversation. it was so wholesome and made my stay. When I invite people from out of state to my workplace, I will definitely be recommending this place to them!”
