“I’m giving this hotel 4 stars solely due to having to pay for uncovered parking after already paying to be a guest. It’s just very off-putting, especially when there are other hotels in the area with free parking. Everything else about this hotel is exceptional. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious with a ton of options. The pool area is well-maintained and beautiful. Shower has fantastic water pressure. The wood floors are a really nice touch and the cleanliness is on point. I would definitely stay here again. But come on y’all, making people pay to park in an uncovered lot with no protection is kind of uncool.”

“We had a wonderful experience at Holiday Inn Baton Rouge-South & Convention Center. The staff was welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and provided a relaxing atmosphere. Though its a bit dated but that is totally fine, its the peaceful atmosphere and the convenient location what matters most. Any questions or requests we had were handled promptly and with a smile. I truly appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the entire team. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Baton Rouge. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant experience! ?”

“Was a quick overnight stop. We went on a Sunday. The room was clean and very nicely appointed. Cudos for having a bench in the shower! Loved the tv in the bathroom mirror. Only downfall of the room was there was no fridge. We faced a parking lot, but next time I will request a water view. The hotel is beautiful and the casino didn’t smell like smoke on the main floor. Enjoyed the slots they had. Ate at the Red Lotus. Took about 20 minutes to get our server and for him to come back with water, but once our order was taken, the food came out quickly and was very tasty. Overalls great stop on our trip. Use those Penn points! We got some great perks!”

“I came here for a few days for apartment hunting and thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My favorite aspect of the hotel is the hospitality of the Caribbean staff member, Peter, who overlooked the free breakfast during my stay. Every time I was looking for something, he would immediately ask if I needed help (even though he didn’t need to). I was also alone every morning and he came up to engage in small conversation. it was so wholesome and made my stay. When I invite people from out of state to my workplace, I will definitely be recommending this place to them!”

“Staff was absolutely excellent, the customer service was A+. The staff members represent their company well with friendliness, kindness, and concern that the guest needs and expectations are mer. Thank you Angela, Myesha, and the gentlemen who worked the 3pm until 11pm shift on 7/20/24. My rooms was clean roomy and confortable. I had a minor maintenance incident in first room and was immediately transferred to another room. I will definitely book here again. Thank you all again!”

“The room was very spacious. I loved the sofa area. We had 2 queen beds and 2 TVs. Spacious bathroom. Microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Small closet with gliding door. Breakfast was as expected. Fully stocked. Staff was on top of everything. Excellent experience.”

“This is a really nice hotel with a small bar and restaurant. The staff are wonderful and accommodating. There are some really good restaurants nearby as well. The rooms are nice, but a bit dated in some areas. I assume they’re a work in progress since they’re kind of modern. I had a King Suite which I shared with my sister. I had the bed and on the other side of the separation wall was a sofa bed that she slept on. I’d say improvement there is sorely needed as the sofa was pretty dirty, the mattress, super thin (not recommended for an adult) and loads of crumbs underneath. Kudos to Maintenance Guy, Jordan who was sent to help us clean even though he was done for the day unfortunately he wasn’t able to find the proper tools, like a hose for the vacuum. He got it done though! Also there were no bed sheets or blankets for the sofa bed when we arrived. The room was otherwise well stocked with a microwave and mini fridge, lots of towels and a few bottles of water. There was also a coffee maker but no creamer or utensils for stirring. I hope these things improve since I otherwise enjoyed my stay and would like to return sometime. And for a happy welcome, I loved that wonderful, warm chocolate chip cookie!”

“I cannot express how everyone at this hotel went to make my stay a good one. I walked in 5 hours late after delays a hot mess, aggravated, probably rude and here is this man (people talk saying creepy) his name is Donald and he was the kindest man! He put up with everything I threw at him. My refrigerator wasn’t working. I had one hours later. He offered to put whatever I needed cold in the fridge they had. There wasn’t parking close so he offered me to park right up front for the night. Just anything to make things easier. Each night he asked how my night was and how my stay was. He also said buildings weren’t connected. Did I listen nope. Got lost and ran into a nice employee Donna. Wonderful lady also. Met her again when I got lost a second time. Place is nice and clean. Computers to use. Pool is great. Outback next door tastes great. Steakhouse across the street is wonderful. Met Sherri upon leaving offered recommendations for my stay currently in Nola. But I have to say I do miss my staff in Baton Rouge. You will not be disappointed here. Some say a little outdated. I say very clean rooms and great service. Tip your housekeepers and be polite to staff!”

“We stayed in room 102. First, bring your own pillows or go to the front desk and request some better pillows. They were very small and did not sleep well. The mattress needs to be replaced, the airconditioner unit in this room is very, very loud. It rattles the windows everytime it comes on and goes off. I did report this to the front desk on checkout. We were only there for one night. Overall, it was a little pricey at $180 for what you got. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. It was ok for a one night stay. Addendum: We were only there one night and it was late when we returned to the room so there was no since coming to the front desk to ask for more pillows once we were settled into bed. I was just letting anyone else know to go ahead and ask when they check in as the pillows are small and they will need more. It was the last room available so you would not have been able to move me to another room. The mattress was ok for one night. It's good to know that Econo Lodge does not normally serve breakfast or is not obligated to serve breakfast. I will mark that for future reference.”

“This hotel exceeded every expectation. From the moment I walked through the door, the customer service at the front desk went far beyond what you typically expect from a hotel. I was greeted with such genuine kindness that it honestly felt less like checking into a hotel and more like coming home. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully put together. Everything was clean, comfortable, and designed to make it easy to relax after a long day. The amenities were another highlight. Having the bar on-site was a great touch, and the entire property was well-maintained and inviting. The surrounding area was equally impressive, with plenty of nearby options and a great atmosphere. And for anyone traveling with pets, this place is incredibly dog-friendly, which made the experience even better. Without question, this was a five-star stay, and I'll absolutely be back.”

“was just recently there for my daughters first college experience must say stayed here a few years ago is was a pleasant experience the first time around but they were doing some upgrades to the Hotel which I thought but to come back its still the same not bad bud needs to be updated but over all the staff was very amazing warmed welcomed soon as you walk through the door first floor is beautiful clean and clear refreshed, rooms are out dated compared to other hotels but overall was very clean and comfortable not really much to complain on room attention just need to upgrade furniture appliances over all the hotel is beautiful its in the perfect location for travelers and as a last minute resort to stop and stay. PS the kitchen is always a hit its never a miss with that good southern food besides coming to send my kid off to college can't make that trip without a plate of real soul food”

“The room was clean and comfortable. But it was very small. The staff was pleasant, as would be expected. One complaint is that they advertise having a breakfast. This is also posted in the signage behind the desk. However, no breakfast, no coffee, and the ice machine, and the soda and snack machines, were all out of order. Luckily, we had a lot to do so we didn't stay in the hotel very much. All in all, I would stay here again. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the area.”
