“Are there even other Auto Parts stores? I don't know because why would I need to go anywhere other than O'Reilly's! They are great at helping and always seem to have what I need whether it's for one of my domestic cars or one of my imports.”

From 1 star to 5 stars. All thanks to Mr. Calvin and his employee Carson.

I greatly appreciate the store manager Mr. Calvin for reaching out to me about my not so friendly experience from the previous day at his store. He took the time to listen to what I had to say and assured he’d make the situation right.

To Whom It May Concern:

I went into this location today before 4pm to see about getting a new gas cap and some fuel stabilizer. I’ve been to this store before and have had WONDERFUL experiences. That’s mainly thanks to your employee Carson. I should have done a separate review for him, but I’ll make sure to do that tomorrow. During today’s interaction, I had the “pleasure” of interacting with your much older employee Scotty. Glasses, ball cap, full facial hair, just for description purposes. Now a little about me as a person and a customer. I work in customer service as well and I have no desire to waste ANYONE’S time, including mine. There were 3 employees I think there today, and all were busy helping other customers whenever I would look back at the counter. So, I wandered through the aisles hoping I wouldn’t have to bother anyone for help if I could find it myself. Plus I was just looking at other random items as well, just being very much aloof and just waiting, plus it’s my off day. I’m not rushing anyone to come help me. I was just waiting patiently for an employee to get to me when they had time.
When I’m just in my own world waiting I finally hear a ”Can I help you?” Or “Can I help you with something?” Immediately I felt this would not be a pleasant interaction for me, spoiler alert, I was right. He wasn’t kind or friendly when he said it, it was more so in the tone of, “What do you want.” But I give the benefit to everyone I encounter….until you show me otherwise, which your employee did. I walked up to the counter and told him I was looking for a gas cap. He said they keep them behind the counter(makes sense now why I couldn’t find them myself in the aisles). I smile big and say “Great! Also I had a question about this stabilizer/I wanted to know about this.” He stares for a moment, body language is very much disinterested and disengaged from the interaction. And he was basically like, “What do you want to know?” I pause, because in my head, I don’t know what I want to know. That’s the purpose of me asking an employee of this establishment. I’m still smiling and just trying to get through the interaction, “Well, I don’t know what I want to know, that’s why I’m asking the experts here.” His demeanor had not changed at all since we began talking. He moves his hands around a bit and says,” What are you putting it in? A trailer-“ At that point I walked away. I had spent maybe less than 15 minutes in the store. I walked in feeling good and just needing something simple and hoping to walk away with some additional information. Yet I was met with disinterest and a not so friendly experience. I then went next door to your competitor and was very satisfied and in a better mood than when I left your store. They were happy to be very thorough in their knowledge of fuel stabilizers and what PEAs are. I greatly appreciated the team there. Now….am I being dramatic…probably. But one place left me feeling like crap(your store)and not a priority and the next place(your competitor)treated me with grace, respect, and kindness.”
