40136 River Rd, DarrowOne of the best tours we had. The Houmas House is not only charming but it has a welcoming atmosphere. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, personable and passionate about the entire history of the plantation manor. I would return to do the house tour again and allow more time to visit the museum as well.

Dixie Cafe at Houmas House and Gardens
40136 Highway 942 River Road, DarrowThe food was good. The service is lacking. Most everyone eating appeared to work there, so they knew the rules and procedures which were not normal, in my opinion. It was confusing. It had upscale table settings and buffet setup, but you ordered and paid before you were allowed to be seated. Waitresses were visible, but you had to go to the counter to get a drink refill. They did not know how to treat guests.
