“I read about their gas station deli on Facebook and decided to try it this week. WOW!! I was wonderfully surprised! I ordered the 15pc fried shrimp basket. It came with:15 large butterflied fried shrimpHuge pile of firesSaladToasted, buttered breadTartar sauceAll for $14.99!! and it tasted like a sit-down restaurant. My husband and I split it, and we were stuffed!We called ahead and ordered, and the lady said she’d start making it while we drove so that it would be hot and ready when we arrived. Really nice people and great food!Pictured is the dinner and a meat pie.”

Needed 18 cents and was debating on getting change from my car or just using my debit card, the employee (manager?) said she would cover the 18 cents. So that was a nice experience, made things convenient for me.”

“This Walmart is extremely busy everyday all day. They seem to do a decent job keeping the shelves stocked, better then most. On the weekends you can barely get down the aisle with other customers and Walmart employees shopping for the delivery customers. It's best to shop here during the week.”

“20240331 Happy Easter!! ✝️??? I stopped here for Boudin Balls since the restaurants in the area that sells them and crawfish pies are closed for Easter. Rouses didn't have Boudin Balls but have meat and crawfish pies!! I got a bunch for my friend in Alabama (on my way to) and I just tried the crawfish pie, and it was delicious. I would have like it better if it was crunchy. The man at the counter was so nice and patient. I picked up some hot sauces that I didn't see anywhere else except at Tabasco in New Iberia. The employee who was stocking the shelves was so friendly! Oh and I got my dog some fried chicken and she liked it.”

“Never heard of this place by the name given it here "st helena grocery" as the sign out front and anyone around here would tell you it's the "Sportsman Crossing" and now that I have googled it to confirm such I am far more prepared to guve it a 5 star rating as its run by the very nice lady that owns it as well as runs the place full-time and has been nothing but very kind to me each and every time I stop in as she does keep my favorite pork budan on the ready as well as the 10 piece pack in her freezer section identical to the ones in her slow cooker as I did buy a pack figuring I would cheat a little and cut out the middle man, but just wasn't the same as a personal stop and short friendly chat with her or one of her family members running the cash register (rare occurrence but does happen occasionally) as she was even helpful on my decision to move in to Oak Forest Estates being she gave it her personal glowing reviews the very night I came over this way to look at the place I currently reside in for just over a year now.Will say another thing about the place as it's gas prices are very competitive with the ones in Walker some 5 miles north of it, even cheaper if you elect to pay in cash and that to me is a very rare thing to find in what I would concider a country store at its very best...
