“Cassandra was a wonderful tour guide. She texted in advance of tour to make sure I knew where exactly to meet her. She was very knowledgeable about the cemetery, the history, and the many of the burial sites at Metairie Cemetery.”

“An amazing experience - we were in town for a Conference and the production of ONCE was our last night in town. What a great send-off! The theater is amazing and the cast and staging were excellent!”
“Since moving into the area, this has quickly become one of my favorite places to stop for a beer.
The beer selection is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you’re getting. Everything I’ve tried has been well-crafted and enjoyable. Beyond the beer, the atmosphere is what really stands out. The bartenders are friendly, welcoming, and make you feel like a regular even if it’s only your second or third visit.
The crowd is always great, the conversations are enjoyable, and it’s the kind of place where it’s easy to relax and spend a few hours. We have thoroughly enjoyed every visit and will definitely be back many more times.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for great beer and a welcoming atmosphere.”
“It has been a wonderful experience over the years to locate and donate items we can't utilize in our office. For our recent move out, we recycled 50% of our items to The Green Project.”

“We took the cooking class with Chef Dee and it was AMAZING! Even as a seasoned home cook, I learned some tips and tricks that I’m using each day now that I’m back home. This was a wonderful experience, and I recommend it to anyone - team building, first date, family outing - the Chef and her Sous Chef are encouraging, helpful, and inclusive. Everyone present had a job to do and there was a lot of laughter and fun. We sat down to eat our meal and it was the best food I’ve ever had.
Best part, we got the recipes to bring home! We’ve made our dishes for Thanksgiving and plan to cook them again for Christmas. Friends and family are amazed at our culinary skills and we fight over the leftovers!
A great way to spend the afternoon, and the experience is well-documented with photos so we were able to just experience the fun and learning. 100% will come again! Money well-spent and an afternoon we will always remember.
Thank you Chef Dee and Sous Chef Candy.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed learning about the space, the history, and their plans for the future. The intention that went behind the decor, down to the bathrooms, is so evident. Phenomenal.”
“The front desk staff greeted me with professional kindness. My pet and I were called in to be seen very quickly. The vet tech and the veterinarian were both so compassionate and loving to my baby kitty. I’m so thankful for a diagnosis and medication to begin recovery. I highly recommend this vet clinic.”
“A friend requested that I meet her and her 15month baby girl at the We Play Center for a play date with my 15 month daughter. The Center was a perfect play date experience for my daughter as well as for me. She played with other children around her age in an inviting setting with plenty of toys to interact with her. She choose to explore with the other children which gave my friend and I time have conversation amongst ourselves and other caregivers. All free of charge. I will be visiting we play Center again.”
“Son of a Saint is doing truly life-changing work for young boys in New Orleans by providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities that shape their future. The impact this organization has on the community is powerful and inspiring.”
“I had my front wheel stolen after recently buying new parts for it and I was bummed. Came to RUBARB and found a wheel, tube, and tire for soooo cheap. It was amazing. While I was there I saw at least five different people working on their bikes and collaborating, men, women, queer people, POC. It was kinda beautiful, I want our society to be more structured like this. Community driven, affordable, accessible, leveraging recycled materials.”
“Put this charity on your must donate list comparable to the salvation army or the red cross. They are doing a lot for the homeless in New Orleans. They need your help today.”
“Dr. Brennin Brown, Psychiatrist here, is amazing. Best Psychiatrist I've had since seeing Psychiatrists, going back to 2008. Also this facility is Great. No complaints.”

“I volunteered for 3 months with this association. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The staff are very nice and very good instructors, I learnt a lot during this placement. You have to go and help them with their wonderful work, which is a great help to the people of New Orleans.”
“Ive had a few stressful experiences here. Mostly involving locker room entry from pool. Some staff is amazing and go above and beyond and some yell at you for trying to go through lobby when the locker rooms were pad locked. Also the family restroom is just a men's bathroom. Im trying to get myself and my kids dressed from pool while locker rooms were closed for camp use and my 1year old is trying to play in the urinal. Ive had no issues using facility during school year and gym has a good variety of equipment, machines and classes. Looking forward to trying a aerobics class.”

“I was a member here for my first year right before I moved. My sister was a member and I wanted to do this with her. Really great group of people who are very kind . Enjoyed volunteering at the thrift shop and also doing their other volunteer programs .”
“Great experience! They do awesome work for the community. I've volunteered over the last couple of years and it's very rewarding. Wish I would have started years ago.”
“My two Aunts, Alice Margaret Padel and Claire Padel Modenbach started teaching students with disabilities how to sew at this facility. In fact, my Aunt, Alice Padel worked initially for Rutter Rex and then she went on to own her own manufacturing facility on Magazine Street named SegMar. This facility made uniform blouses, fashionable blouses, and dungarees. My Aunt Claire sewed and worked with my Aunt Alice at this facility as well. I lived in Gentilly and every time we had a hurricane, our family went to SegMar and we slept on top the fabric cutting tables. Those cutting tables and sewing machines were donated to Strive by my Aunt Alice. In fact, her photo is on the wall as a Director. I still have many carnival souvenirs that were made by the students who went to school at this facility. Those students who work there are the unsung heroes. This is a wonderful place to get a snack on Mardi Gras weekend. What a great way to show support for those less fortunate. The staff will be friendly, they always are! If you need something put together for carnival, you may hire these students. A WIN/WIN”
“When I think of good people doing the work to protect people and planet, this group immediately comes to mind. For more than 25 years they have been fighting the gas export, oil refineries and chemical industries to protect their communities.”
“They have always been lovely to me and my service dog. They even held my cart for me one day when my service dog was not feeling up to the task and I had to take her home and come back myself.”

“A beautiful city park supporting a lovely family neighborhood, alive with activity. I met a local security guard and friendly conversation with the people that she served. I even got a few sprigs of herbs from the community garden
I hope the city fills up their swimming pool soon, the hard-working people in this neighborhood deserve that place of relaxation, especially for all the children.”
“The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. The service was also very great. The food was good, but a bit pricey for a smaller portion. The music was done just after 8, which was a little disappointing.”
“I love the unique items this place brings to the market. We are lucky that we have a place where the special creators have a spot to sell and display their beautiful work. I go a few times a year to stock up on these special items.”
