“Went for a tasting. My friend said "wine tasting," but it was actually a bourbon tasting. We had a laugh, but the distributor doing the tasting was so nice to open a bottle of Spanish wine that he could replace. It was good so we each bought a bottle. Met some very fun people as well.”

“Thrifty Discount Liquor & Wine is in a prime location. They have decent parking and a drive-through option. I've never had any issues, but the inside cleanliness is lacking, and the last 2 times I visited, it smelled like weed.”

“The unloading is very fast, you arrive and you get to any available door so that you are not on the street since it is a main avenue, you report and say the door number and the unloading is ready in an hour. Very good service. Very professional and friendly people.”

A bit pricey than the circle k down the road but at least you know this place will be open when it says they will….random fact….about 25 years ago when itWas an entirely different construction and had a little gas station owned by a nice Vietnamese family and adjacent was a golf driving range that persisted for much longer amazingly….well firstly they had amazing crawfish there…also when we were like 12 they had cheap offbrand cigarettes in a spinning rack on the floor where customers were and that’s where we would “borrow” them occasionally (probably only 2-3 times) when the owners were playing some sort of carom Billiards (table with no pockets) in the other room…anyhow…this is my way of giving a very long overdue apology…they were always nice people and nice to us…. ??”

The clerk was a young man . Late 20's I believe ,possibly 30.. He was polite and helpful and "smiled "... That's so very important...Can't say he made my day but I left feeling hopeful for today's youth . A refreshing feeling .. Thanx young man ..Your boss should give you a raise ?. . I tried ?”
“We were traveling and desperately needed a bathroom for one of the kids. A storm had passed and everyone was without power and closed! The manager allowed us to use the bathroom even though the storm was closed. We really appreciate the kindness!!!!”

“Great lunches. Thursday is pork chops or ribs with 2 sides and a drink, Friday is great fried catfish or ribs with two sides and a drink, Saturday is catfish or ribs and two sides. Tuesday and Fridays they have two tacos, two sides, and a drink. These lunch specials are $9.99. They have other lunch specials on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday that are very good but the aforementioned are my favorites. You can dine in, but with no table service. However, the service from the lunch counter and check out is tremendous.”

“Ok, how is a piece of Scotch tape on a lid considered "not open container"? First time having the Lousianna daiquiri experience and I'm impressed. As a noob I asked the clerk which flavor he recommends and he was like "girl, my taste is different than yours" so he was nice to have me try each flavor. Boy a huge shot glass filled of each of the 8 flavors. I was between peach Bellini and mango Moscato. Mango Moscato won this round. They had a egg nog for Holiday season. This branch is one of the newer ones, but I was told Thrifty has been a household liquor name in Lousianna probably since prohibition (lol?!) They got a nice selection of beers and liqours as well soda and mixers. Place is clean and we'll stocked. Staff is super friendly.”
