“This felt like a walking into a museum. We were a bit surprised we were welcomed in even though they were closing in just 15 minutes. But everyone who worked here was friendly and kept suggesting different pieces to go check out. There were so many different pieces from every era. Everything was in exquisite condition and out in the open to fully view. It is such an interesting collection and definitely worth stopping in!”
“A very cool shop that smells good. I just went in knowing nothing ‘bout nothing and left with the same knowledge, but with an all-purpose voodoo doll. Stop in and browse. It smells really good.”
“Zele has a very unique collection of art, crafts, prints, photos and more from local artists, each with their own pop-up booth space running the length of the store. Also, a good inspiration for making your own crafts, if so inclined.”
“We stumbled upon this place the other day and came across a VERY eclectic collection of what I'd call furniture art. Everything from something Genghis Khan would have had to the front of an old automobile as a love seat. You could visit as if you were going to an museum.”
“Since 2020 I have had the opportunity to attend many events at Fire House Loft and since recently have been able to host. What is consistent from both sides is the extraordinary experience and service. Sean and his team go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and the vibes are set. Perfect for an intimate gathering, large celebration or corporate meeting - Fire House exceeds all expectations and would 10/10 recommend - local & visitors alike!”
“Absolutely love the pieces. They have a large selection. I purchased a beautiful necklace and bracelet. Great customer service. She even cleansed my piecey's before I wore them. I love this store”
“Of all of the interesting galleries and shops in New Orleans, this is probably the most fun and whimsical of them all. It is absolutely impossible not to smile while you walk around looking at everything. We purchased one guy who looks like he had 30 cups of coffee for our wall and a picture of a monster putting rainbows in jars and sending them off to the world. I look at both daily.”
“We happened upon Dr Bob's when in the area... and of course we had to stop in...
What a treat... and eclectic artist who uses many recycled items and has them available for purchase...
We will definitely stop by when in the area again...”
“I bought a gift card to my daughter. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and helpful. My daughter has bought things from Home Malone before and she bought two door hangers with his gift card. She really loves Home Malone.”
“Stopped in last December to look at the incredible art. Troy showed us around and informed of us of style of Mr. Lukezic with the different textures. We loved the tango dog style and Troy said he could have a custom one done. We got a spring flower painting and a custom tango fire dog. He personalized it with station number. They both were safely shipped, we even asked for the sketch and hung it next to the art. They look AMAZING!”
“A possum themed boutique? In New Orleans? Say less!
Okay- so first off, if you're looking for this business on Google, there's photos of a live possum resting in the shop (I think it's dated like 6 years ago). There is NO live possum in store. There. Just level-setting things. (I somehow was really excited for a live possum, but alas....)
Okay, BUT the possum items are ADORABLE!!! The best photo ops, and there is so much thought and detail and care. I got a small plush possum- and it even came with food (sprinkles) and a birth certificate, and how to care for it.
They also gave me a few extra stickers. SO CUTE!!!”
“Obsessed with this place. Incredibly well curated items at very good prices. Great for shopping for yourself or as gifts. The owners are so kind and make you feel welcomed. Will definitely be back!”
“Such a great shop! Got a little cortado cup that’s so perfect from here. The owners work on their pottery from the counter. Gorgeous works ranging in price from $20 for ornaments, 25, 35, and 60 for mugs, and hundreds for very special and massive pieces. Had a great conversation with Alex, he was telling me about how him and his wife have been doing this since the 90s and got some awesome neighborhood coffee shop recs, too.
Beautiful blue mug to add to my collection. Can’t wait to use it!”
“What a refreshing, modern, unassuming one of a kind gallery found within the stuffy Julia St. art district in New Orleans. Ariodante Contemporary Craft Gallery is a true treasure chest of unique wares to choose from. Their collection of art is supplied by various local artists who’s range vary in talent and medium choice. All works are very unique and priced reasonably. The gallery is maintained/managed by a marvelous curator, Laurie. She obviously knows the artist and their works. She does her very best for customers by making sure that works selected to be sold in the shop are what customers are looking for before they even know what they’ll love. I found and purchased a lovely Cuban-box sliver bracelet that I didn’t know I needed until she informed about the artist and his pieces; further she explained the talent needed to make said bracelet and she contacted the artist for further information about the bracelet.
This gallery is must for every tourist visiting New Orleans.
PS Once home Laurie sent a thank you note! Now that’s charming.”

“Absolutely Fantastic place. The gallery was beautiful, and the staff was extremely informative. After talking to friends of ours about the artist, we went back and purchased a piece. Very happy”
“This art gallery was astoundingly unique with mixed media pieces, original art work, prints, and interactive pieces. The mid-range price point makes it a must see for someone looking for one of a kind pieces. Also the gallery attendant was very personable and helpful even though we had kids with us.”
“The surprises in this museum start when you walk in the front door. Floor joists for the upper floors are exposed, with the floor cut away to create an atrium in front of the brick front. We liked seeing the antique cameras scattered throughout the photo exhibit, and the room tricked out to look like a darkroom, with red light, the b&w photos hung by clothes pins, and an old enlarger.Another space held a couch, bookcases and photographs on the wall. It was meant to suggest grandma’s living room. It was Irvin, who works on the second floor, who pointed out what the furnishings were meant to signify in that gallery.Irvin was fun to talk to about art at the Contemporary Arts Center, art in general. He explained the New Orleans cultural references in the photographs: Second Line, local Native Americans and the clubs (A club was recreated in one of the galleries).”
“Remarkable little antiques shop at Jackson Ave and Magazine St right next to the famous Simon's Sign Workshop & Curiosities, which has no listing on Google Maps, but is a landmark for those who've seen or ordered one of his signs around NOLA. Anyway, there's so much packed into every nook and cranny of this antiques shop.”
“Awesome gallery, very knowledgeable on the artists, Very professional, great website, excellent framing is also available, large stable of artists in every price point.”
“A.L. Lowe's does museum-quality first class custom matting and framing, for almost anything. They have a very wide variety of frame styles and materials, and can handle almost any framing project. While they are not inexpensive, their workmanship is of the highest quality and will stand the test of time – heirloom quality that will last for generations.”
“OK OK. I finally made it back when they were open. The owner was so friendly that I want to take back the meanness I said before. Yes they are currently open only weekdays, but he is busy trying to wrap up other things and hopes to be open on the weekends soon. Everything was very nice, well organized. It can be used as an event space.”
“The Art Garden & Floating Gallery feels like it’s own beautiful quiet oasis behind a wooden fence, away from the crazy hustle & noise of Frenchmen Street. I love to step in here every time I visit New Orleans & look at all the amazing art & chat with the artists & enjoy my drink on one of the nice wooden benches, and just take in the ambiance. Love this place!! And the owners are so friendly & make their own cool art! Definitely would recommend checking out!”

“Loved our transaction with Ashley and Melissa while adding a beautiful piece to our art collection. Beautiful, unique and colorful gallery. We've got our NOLA souvenir!”
“Lovely gallery, I am so glad we went in. Truthfully the paintings I spotted from the door drew me. The prices range from high to low, so there is something for all budgets if you are looking to purchase art. We got a great 12x12 piece for under 300 and it was well packed for us to travel with. (Shipping was an option). The gallery is like a mini museum with the main room, a back room, and an upstairs. Well air conditioned, well lit, with seating. We especially loved the gentleman (Angel) working there- he was so very kind and patient. We are so excited to hang our new piece. We also learned some fun info about some of the art from Angel. Thanks again!”
“A hidden gem for glass art enthusiasts! The gallery features a great variety of local glass art, and the studio offers lots of glass classes from beginner to advanced!”
“Lovely little shop in the French Quarter. We have purchased several things from here. Earnings, hand carved wooden mask and wall decoration. The owner was there this time and he was so nice and personable.”
“What an awesome first experience! Amanda was patient, offered great expertise and opinions, was gentle when handling my art, and was just genuinely a friendly business owner to interact with! She put together an estimate piece by piece of what I was hoping for and guiding me on what would cost more versus less to make sure she was being fully transparent about pricing - which I always appreciate! So excited to see the finished product and would definitely recommend!”
“Unique art, friendly and helpful staff. The 3D glass art caught my attention as ilI was walking down the street. It was after hours so I made sure to return the next day. This was my first piece of "gallery" art, but I love this artist's work, so it won't be my last!! Shipping was exactly how described and arrived in perfect condition.”
“Zack and team did a great job communiating and working with us to shoot video at a mardi gras event. This was not an easy request becasue we needed his team to follow our team over two days for video production. Communcation was great on working toward final edited version. I highly recommend Zack Smith Photography”
