THE BUILDING is an art gallery and event space located on O. C. Haley Boulevard (formerly Dryades Street). Christian and Connie started building this dream in 2001. After much effort and years of self-funded renovations, their vision finally came to life – a venue to host visual art exhibits, artist workshops, film screenings and private events. This vision is part of an effort to support the social and economic revitalization of historic Dryades Street as a cultural corridor for the City of New Orleans, while maintaining a unique aesthetic and character of days gone by.

I had the pleasure of attending the opening reception for the inaugural photo exhibit of local New Orleans photographer Johnny Jones this past weekend at The Building. From top to bottom this venue,the exhibit, and most importantly the owners are outstanding.
