1628 East Kentucky Avenue, RustonI was recently going through old paperwork and found records from Sexton Animal Health Center from 2020, when I rescued my dog, Kalli, from the streets of Grambling, Louisiana during the pandemic.
As a college student and first-time dog owner, I had no idea what I was doing. When I brought three-month-old Kalli to Sexton for vaccinations and a wellness check, the staff immediately made us feel welcome and supported.
What began as a routine vet visit became a source of community. The team guided me through puppy ownership, offered training advice, and connected us with resources that helped Kalli become a confident, well-socialized dog. She loved daycare and socialization programs, and the care she received from both staff and other dogs helped shape her into the wonderful companion she is today.
KLooking back, that support meant everything. Being away from family and navigating college on my own was challenging, and having people who genuinely cared about both me and my puppy made a lasting difference.
Kalli is now almost six years old—healthy, happy, and beautiful. I’m attaching a current photo in hopes that staff who knew her as a puppy might recognize her and see how well she’s doing today.
Thank you, Sexton Animal Health Center, for helping me raise my best friend. The impact you had on our lives has lasted far beyond those early puppy years.

The guy who helped us pick the menu was very knowledgeable and passionate about their product and they steered us to some great choices. Real meat and seasoning was well worth the price. The sweet potato fries are definitely a strong side to the meal. Looking forward to continued business!
