“The red beans and rice were tasty, but just mush. No beans in it. I understand different people like different things, I just like some beans in mine.
The burger was delicious, juicy, and a great size. The boudain addition was definitely worth it. I don't know what kind of bun they used, but it reminded me of a jalepeno bun, kinda sweet. I could eat the burger 3 times a week.
The pork chop breading was too hard. I like crunchy, but that was like the wet chop sat in the flour too long type of hard. It was well seasoned beneath the flour though. I would come back for sure.
The service was excellent. It seems like I'm bashing the place but I'm not. EVERYTHING tasted great, there's just some things I like different than others. I would absolutely go back again and again.”

“Come on… best home cooked food like the old grandparents used to cook… absolutely the best fried chicken and sides! Food is cooked perfectly done- no half way stuff! I believe the delivery fellow is the nephew of the owner??? Such a sweet, kind, professional person and truly believes in his family’s business and you can tell he’s passionate about what his aunts vision is for her restaurant . His aunt should be proud of him! Best service and food for real!!! Only wish they’d be open on Saturdays for dine in… I’d be there every Saturday ?”

“Don’t let the size of this little neighborhood grocery store for you… They have everything you need, and more! Gluten free… No problem, they have surprise me with a fair amount of options here. The premade chicken salad is my absolute favorite!… And the jalapeño chicken burgers in the deli section are amazing! They have wonderful meat specials every day. The chicken and steak kebabs, and the stuffed pork chops are my favorite.”
“I've been eating here and occasionally picking up their amazing spiral cut hams for decades from back when my dad's friend owned this location. I have to say that the shrimp poboys here are among the best around and I know that's saying a lot! I was forced to get out of my shrimp comfort zone yesterday when the clerk told me that they were out of shrimp so I tried a half muffaletta sandwich and BOY was I glad I did. Not only was it LOADED with their amazing ham, and I mean loaded, but everything else about it was incredible included the bread. This muff is now perhaps my favorite in town and that also says a lot to me at least. I don't think my photo puts the amount of meat on this sandwich in proper perspective. Only buy a whole muffaletta anywhere if you want an entire surplus meal and more so here. It's the nature of this unique sandwich.”
“This place is near and dear to me, I've been going here since I was a little girl. It's the freshest meat you can buy. This is a way better option than Walmart. You can watch the meat walk up into the slaughter house It's that fresh.”

“It's a nice convenience store, out in a more country location. Don't let this fool you, I buy 12 pack DP already cold for 5.50$ plus my cigarettes and beer on my way home. LoL. All jokes aside, I spend less stopping there . Than going all the way to OP , than Lafayette. Also the BD links and pizza is pretty good. Also I won a 1.000$ scratch off there. I never won anything close to that scratch off. My one is, you never know what potential a place has until you give them a chance to serve you. Plus I got to be Buddy with him and he a good man. What got me was he has been taking his dad with him every where he goes. He just needs to be looked after and company. I have respect for that. We should take care of our parents when they get too old to do by themselves. This is why the owner is a good guy, one of the many things should I say.”
“Best sandwich in Lafayette- the Tavern Club (omit the turkey & ask for extra ham; sub the sweet hickory mustard for the tart honey mustard they usually put on the sandwich. Absolutely terrific. Also, a great place to pick up a hambone to make soup!”
