“This grocery store/gas station dabbles in a little bit of everything. Fresh made pizzas, to ready-made lobster rolls, to fresh bakery items, to lottery tickets and liquor! We found ourselves here a few times for blueberries, maple syrup, and we wanted to try Moxie and this was the only place we could find it in individual bottles. I imagine this little store can be a lifesaver to those who live in the area and us travelers who were somewhat unprepared.”
“The hot food bar is always worth a gander. It's simple fare, but every once in a while there will be a real knock-out dish on offer. As a grocery store, it does the job; if you can't find what you're looking for, you probably didn't actually NEED it. It's Locally run and Employee owned, so your money goes into pockets of people in the Island. Good booze selection, nice smattering of local products such as 44 North Coffee, Cold Water Seafood smoked mussels, though I miss being able to pick up Tinder Hearth bread at Burnt Cove. And while I'm chasing the vapors of nostalgia, I also miss the DVD rental at the deli counter; it's a small tragedy to see it gone. I'm partial to Burnt Cove over the Galley (no offense to the fine folks there) and it sure beats driving to Blue Hill.”
“Loved Lily's attentiveness ❤️ Visited her a few times with my sister to pick things up for my grandmother. It's got fair prices and some great essentials so you don't have to make special trips off island”
“Living on MDI, driving an hour to the Blue Hill Co-op is a regular destination as they carry so much more than I can find on island or in Ellsworth. Amazing selection of local produce and vegan goods (dairy, “meats” and tofu products, fermented foods, etc.) Huge bulk section which is the area I find most useful, carrying hard to find items like organic oat groats. The cafe has improved with regular V items and always a rotation of baked goods and grab and go. I got the falafel burger on a GF bun (really good bun - I did not specifically ask if it was vegan, though mentioned I was vegan.) Delicious and hefty side of fries. Lovely outside seating area with umbrellas for shade or rain. This is a vibrant community spot, and a fun place to run into or meet kind people.”
“Has many of the go-to items that you may be looking for. However, it does not currently carry organic butter. So if you are from Rhode Island, you might as well stay in Rhode Island. (Yes, I'm talking to you, snobby combat hat dude with RI plate)”
“Stumbled across this total gem! Like a mini grocery store but with great finds and little handwritten notes on the shelves explaining the more niche food products. A ton of local crafts for sale, too. Solid food menu, especially coffee. The staff were SO sweet and very friendly. A must-visit for Brooklin!”
