“P & L Market is one of those places that still understands the value of great customer service. Every time I walk through the door, I'm greeted with a smile by the friendly ladies at the registers, and that welcoming atmosphere keeps me coming back.
Their selection of farm-fresh products is excellent, including fresh milk, bacon, butter, cheese, and many other local favorites. The butcher shop is outstanding and truly sets them apart. Whether you need a specific cut, a custom order, or something prepared exactly the way you want it, they're always willing to help and go the extra mile.
It's refreshing to have a local market that combines quality products, knowledgeable staff, and genuine hometown service. I highly recommend P & L Market to anyone looking for fresh food and a friendly shopping experience.”

“This is your everyday store but the nice part is there is two of them 500 ft away from each other and the owners and employees are awesome people. These stores always have their stock on the shelves. I go to both stores everyday.”
“We have been wanting to try the pizza here because we had some elsewhere in town that was okay but we thought the crust could have been better. Being fairly new to this part of Maine it is good to develop go-to places for different things. So we ordered a large pepperoni pizza and onion rings. The onion rings were good and the pizza was terrific. The crust was just right. There was an odd thing where it seemed like they hadn't finished slicing the pizza. My mouth is large but not that big! But it was a simple matter to finish slicing it myself. The people were friendly on the phone and in person. I read in a review that the parking could be challenging, so I was prepared to park next door if need be, but it was no problem. They had chicken salad sandwiches that were in small round buns (hamburger rolls?) and turkey sandwiches in small sub rolls. They looked intriguing and they were quite inexpensive so I will keep it in mind if I need to eat a meal on a shoestring sometime or if I want something a little different than the norm. Anyway, the pizza was so good I figure I have to try a cheeseburger there with fries sometime. There is no fast food place in town, so having a place to grab quick meals from would be great. Oil course it is also a convenience store with coffee, drinks and other items available. I didn't see any fresh pastries but there was a Nearly empty display there so they may have been sold out. All in all a place I want to try again, and in walking distance too.”

“Been shopping here for a while. The meat selection is wonderful. It is basically a privately owned Hannaford so the deals carry over. Just don't expect to use your My Hannaford Rewards here. I love this place and if you are in the area, it is worth a look. And if staying at the Skowhegan/Canaan KOA... This is very close by and you will find everything you need for food for your camping trip. And it's only 15 minutes or so away.”

“Probably the friendliest Dollar General I have ever shopped . I have to say that this chain is not always friendly but this store is definitely an exception. I know that the clerks are tasked with both helping customers and stocking the shelves. This store seems to have found the proper equilibrium.”
