The girl who worked there was so friendly and helpful. I could literally buy everything in the store that's how much i loved it in there. Next time I come up there to visit I'm definitely stopping by again.”

“Great customer service, prices are average compared to other Portland shops, and super cute products. I bought myself a long sleeved t-shirt that was half off and a stuffed moose for my friend. If you are purchasing something half off, double-check the total as the system does not automatically ring it up and they had to refund me.”
“My wife and I travel annually to Maine and I always make time to stop in this particular store. Their curated selection of men’s clothing is second to none. The attention to detail and the responsiveness of the staff is always refreshing. As an example from my most recent trip: I found a shirt I loved and one of the staff noticed that it was slightly too long. Without hesitation they offered to alter the garment and even to ship it to me since I lived out of state.
This kind of service will keep me coming back and purchasing items for as long as I visit Portland. My only regret is that they don’t have more stores nationwide - but the fact that there is only one store is likely what makes it that much more special. I can’t wait to come back to David Wood next year.”

“Who knew!? You can get something for a wedding, the beach/boat, the office or city, and even things to workout, hike, go to yoga and even sleep! I saw beautiful Italian purses and shoes and a solid jewelry selection. It was mid-high end brands - Armani through JCrew. Definitely worth swinging through if you are in the Freeport area.”

“This is one of my daughters favorite places in the Old Port. We had a 5+ star experience in the spring when shopping, she found the perfect eighth grade dance dress. The woman working (possibly the owner?) Was fabulous!!!At 5:55 she tried to duck in for a quick peruse since they were closing at 6:00. The woman working wouldn't allow her in. Quite surprised that they wouldn't want the business. Could always lock the door at 6:00 and allow existing shoppers to finish up. Small gripe I know but with small businesses, I feel like this courtesy is a must.”
“I ordered a planter for the nursery we’re putting together for our (yet to be born - any day though!) daughter. The mail carrier ended up breaking the item. I emailed Bliss and they immediately shipped another one and also graciously included a gift for the baby’s nursery as well! It was exceptionally well packaged and arrived in NYC in 2 days. Lauren - you’re a rockstar!

“I found a very cute romper for my daughter's baby shower. It's a magenta pretty pink color. They also had a navy green color one. It's sleeveless & really pretty. I wore a white shawl over it.Anyone looking for something dressy but not too dressy this would be perfect. I went to 3 other places first. I should've just went here first. Next time I will because I usually always find what I need here. Plus there prices are reasonable. My romper was $40 dollars. Other places I went dresses & rompers were much more expensive & not as cute in my opinion.”

I walked in having no real clue what my size was, but the staff member who helped me immediately started pulling things for me to try on and I found a fantastic pair of jeans that fit my body fantastically in under 20 minutes.”
