“Blue is the restaurant at Grey Havens Inn. Dinner at Blue is a gustatorial delight. The food is superbly prepared and very appetizingly presented. The owners were lovely and eager to make our dinner memorable. I recommend Blue without reservation.”

“My family and I desperately needed a room during a storm and power outages. Penny went above and beyond to make sure my family was taken care of. She was a absolute blessing!”

“Excellent stay here! Our first time in Boothbay and we arrived early. They not only allowed us to use the parking lot early, we were even able to check in early with no issues. Everyone we interacted with, from the front desk staff to the bartenders, were easy going, positive, and provided excellent service.
The view from Happy Hour at the tavern was incredible and our entire experience here was great. The accommodations are simple but the view of the water from the room, even though we had a limited view room, was a pleasant surprise. The location of this hotel cannot be beat and parking that accompanies it is spectacular. The most convenient stay in Boothbay HANDS DOWN. And if you plan on doing a harbor cruise with Cap’n Fish’s Cruises like we did, the meeting/pickup spot is right next to this hotel.”

“Wonderful location. The town is easily accessible across the footbridge. The rooms are more updated than their website, so that’s nice.

Rooms: The room was clean and temperature was great. Unfortunately the plugs in most areas of the room were very loose and janky.

Nearby activities: Sailing, shopping, and great food are a quick walk away.

Walkability: A quick walk across the footbridge to downtown Bar Harbor.”

“Overall, this is a nice place -- if you like hanging out with the families of toddlers. The amenities are decent, but as with so many of these old school resorts, their heyday is in the past, and some TLC would be helpful. It has a very nice feel but the number of children running around at 6:30am was notable.

The pools were nice, especially if you like interacting with other people's children.

The clay tennis courts were fun to play in, but be ready to do some maintenance yourself -- watering and weeding the courts was helpful keeping the dust and flora down.

The service was okay. The bartender could clearly read a recipe but likely didn't really know how a cocktail was meant to taste, and taste that wine to make sure that it's still good before the waiter walks off.

The room was nice. Big bathroom. Comfy beds, plenty of space, and a little patio with a view of the water. No complaints. And the view was great -- morning and evening were really magical with views across the sound.

The forests and trails were really, really nice. Very alive and truly wonderful for a walk morning or evening. Absolutely walk through the forest if you go.

A legit 4 out of 5. Probably closer to 5 stars for folks with kids.”
