“While replacing my bathroom faucet, I realized that the old valve to faucet connector also needed to be replaced. It was late in the day and didn't really feel like going to HomeDepot, so I went to my local hardware instead. They sold me the connector, but unfortunately it didn't fit. I needed a half inch connector at both ends. One end fit, but the other didn't. They tried to sell me an adapter, but the adapter was almost as much as the connector itself. Ended up returning the item with no issues. It then occurred to me that Ace Hardware may have it since it's a bigger store. Sure enough, they did! The staff at this store were friendly and greeted me soon as I entered. They didn't take me to the aisle, but directed me right to where I could find the right size connector.”
“I recently stopped at the Aubuchon store in Buxton Maine. I was having issues what type and color for my porch. I met with MJ who was working in the paint section. She was tremendous. She took the time to school me on what type to get for my needs and showed me samples, etc. She had a lot of patience with me as I had issues picking the right one. Finally, she recommended one and I purchased it. It was just what I needed, and my Deck looks great. Thanks for taking the time and having the knowledge that I really needed.”
“Had a pallet of pellets delivered earlier this week. Being very pregnant, it took me a moment to waddle my way over to the garage to greet the delivery driver. Not only did this wonderful man go above and beyond to put the pellets in the garage, but he asked if we could pray together for the safe and speedy delivery for both myself and my son. His kindness moved me to tears, and is yet another reason we will continue to use Steep Falls Building Supply for everything we need.”

“My teen son took a knife making class and was very happy with the product he made. The instructor was really friendly and knowledgeable. The class was small and the instructor was able to give a lot of attention to him. Took him through using the different equipment and how do sanding. We will definitely take another class. All the other employees were very friendly and made us feel welcome.”

“You have to watch what you're buying some tools are really great and then some tools are junk I bought a three claw pullers first thing I pulled just snap one of the tips right off and they wouldn't stand by it pretty upsetting you could see where it was defected it was cracked anyway that sockets are real good”
“I have been shopping this particular Portland lowes for about 15 years in addition to the local HD once in a great while.
Ricky and Skip in the appliance dept are awesome and an asset to the store. Ricky answered my wife and I questions on washer/dryers for a good three years before we pulled the trigger on a upper mid-tier priced set with a good rating, rebate and reviews.
Skip also gave us straight honest advice on microwaves a while ago and helped us with a very large multi-item purchase this past weekend. I do shop other Lowes stores but this one is my favorite, mostly because of the helpful and great in store staff.”
“Bought an air-conditioner here. There were only a handful of employees and the merchandising person said he didn't know much, but he knew a lot of information. I was in and out with my a/c out for delivery inl less than20 minutes.”

“Amazing, fast service during another one of those winter weather issues. I spent a lot of time trying to prep for winter with my snow blower. Prepping the gas, starting it throughout the summer months and letting it run, checking the oil. Despite all this, when the big day came to use the snow blower, it wouldn't blow snow, just start and stall over and over and over. As everyone knows, if you live in Maine you need to have a way to remove snow, especially if your driveway is as long as ours. So I started calling around and every repair place was booked out by at least 4 weeks. Luckily I found Sportsman's through word of mouth and they can to pick up our snowblower ($15 pick up and $15 drop off). They repaired it within 3 days! We had a storm the following day and BAM snowblower repaired and working better than ever. It even came back with an EXTREMELY detailed repair report which I appreciate! I highly recommend this place for their prompt turnaround times and responsiveness!”
