His knowledge is vast and his labor rates are on average. $80 per hr. He also sells used autos cheap and affordable. Thats where I bought my current car, 2005 Buick Park Ave.”

“Phenomenal Business-My story: I was on my way to a kayaking weekend in boothbay which was another 90 minutes away when my bike crashed through my rear window shattering glass everywhere. I frantically looked up nearby body shops and found Moody's. When I pulled up to the front office, An angel named Josh Paquette came out and stopped what he was doing to spend the next 75 minutes helping me remove the contents of my trunk. He vacuumed , air blew and hosed down my items and the trunk to remove all the shards of glass. He then installed layers of crash wrap on my windshield. When I looked around their beautiful, building, I was struck by the cleanliness and professional body shop. All the while Josh was reassuring me that it would be safe to drive my vehicle and that he would remove all the glass. When he finished, he refused to accept payment and said he was happy to help. I insisted on at leasing paying him for his hour and he refused. I had to share this story because Moody's is an incredible business with super high integrity and they care about their customers. I would give them all of my business and that of everyone I know because they are truly remarkable-especially Josh. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“After being “jerked around” at Lou’s Custom Exhaust down the street, I stopped by today to inquire about getting a catalytic converter replacement performed on my 2013 Volvo. Mike was gracious and accommodating. I hope we can land on a reasonably priced solution and timeframe over the next few days. Better still was one of Mike’s colleagues whom I did not get the name of. He was highly professional and kind. He noticed in my passing through that my vehicle was missing a lug bolt. He immediately handed me a socket wrench with the correct socket size so that I could tighten the remaining bolts (all four remaining bolts needed to be tightened on the wheel that was missing one!). Other remarks that he made gave me the impression that he, Mike, and the overall business operates with high integrity. Impressive!”

“Went to the car show. It may have been an open house because we had full access to the businesses in the building. In addition to viewing the cars on display, we were allowed to walk through the work areas and view in process projects. Live music was good and while I didn't sample it, food was being served out of the kitchen in the closed Far Out Diner. The weather was threatening rain which eventually arrived but the cars on display filled the parking lots.”

I'm really glad I did and found this gem of a family owned business. The owner and his daughter are so professionally, so friendly and so helpful. “This is likely the place to find that "certain part" for your older automobile restoration. Please read further...I had made contact by phone with Mr. Carswell about 10 years ago in my search for old stock auto parts. I specialize in carburetors. He told me that he had 10 rebuilt old stock carburetors on one of his shelves that he was willing to sell. I am in New Jersey and he is in New Hampshire. I do travel distances to buy inventories of carburetors that have 200 to 300 pieces in them. His tiny inventory was something I would look at if I ever was in his neighborhood. My wife and I decided on a long weekend in Ogunquit, Maine for the last weekend in July of 2022. I made a phone call to Mr. Carswell saying that I would like to stop in on Friday, July 29th, around 1PM, to look at his small carburetor inventory, and browse around his store for other items. He agreed to my visit with a tone of disinterest.My wife and I did show up at the date and time mentioned. We met Mr. Carswell upon entering the dusty and dark car parts museum that is his parts store. We introduced ourselves. We discovered instantly that Mr. Carswell is a rude and condescending curmudgeon. Our being from New Jersey seemed to work against any chance of being accepted by him. He showed me his carburetor inventory that was now at 9 units. I asked what he expected to sell the small lot for. He responded in asking what I pay. Well, I pay pennies on the dollar to buy out hundreds of units at a time...not the correct answer for Mister Carswell. And, he would not give an answer to what his expectations were for his minuscule carburetor inventory. At this point, the dim lighting over the 9 carburetors was turned of. The negotiation was over. Mr. Carswell will own them till his passing day. The carburetors, and the mass amount of inventory in the four stories of this old stock auto parts trove will likely end up in a bunch of dumpsters.Now, I am going to give this old school auto parts store the highest rating on this forum. Based on my experience of visiting car parts stores for the past 20 years, I have a gut feeling that there is likely any type of vintage part that may be needed for American cars from the 1940s through the 1970s. That is, other than carburetors. This is a store that a restorer may be able to walk into and find that certain part being sought for a restoration of a 40s, 50s or 60s automobile.Lesson learned...do not let "Mr. C" know that you are from anywhere but New England. And, do not have a New York or New Jersey metropolitan accent.”

I had a disappointing experience with a different shop who told me i needed to buy parts for my door handle that wasn't needed and then charging me for 1.7 hrs of service. Total cost would have been $305. I went to Wayne's and was told I only needed to replace the smaller part of the door handle and they fixed it in no time. They were very efficient, kind and didn't take advantage of a person who has very little idea of how much things cost when it comes to fixing things that go wrong with their car. I am very grateful for your help. I wish I could give you more stars :)”
