“Small place with big selection, covering all the staples, plus beer and wine. $ome $eafood, look$ good and fre$h. Super convenient from Schoodic Woods campground. Friendly staff and customers.”
“Small grocery, surprisingly had all the staples (unexpected for a store by gas station): not just snacks but some veggies, bread, deli/pizza counter, dairy, ground beef/meat etc.”
“Just moved back to Maine after 5 years away and this shop is now one of my closest options for food and necessities. Only been in twice so far but it’s been easy to find what I need each time and the employees have been very kind and helpful! My roommate has lived here for a bit over a year at this point and loves the shop and its employees as well. I’ve never really found a dollar store enjoyable outside of Daiso but this well-stocked dollar general has changed my mind :) I also love that they have little home and decor collabs with really cute products. Right now they’re doing a Dolly Parton collection which is very charming ?”
“I am always impressed with the variety of foods and spirits and wines available as well as interesting cheeses and other foods.. I do miss this year the boursin bites they usually have and the quart size bottles of Oakhurst blueberry milk. However, I was glad to at least see the small bottles of blueberry milk. They also used to carry locally made yogurt in glass jars, but I miss that now. Still, plenty of variety. Place is clean and folks are friendly.”
“C.H. Matthews being a cornerstone of the community is a welcoming family environment. Currently under new ownership and still providing everything our community needs from a grocery store with a friendly smile.”
“The Mindful Loaf had recommended checking out Ray's. We stopped in and each got a sandwich. Glad we did. The Italian had pickles that was a great addition to the sandwich. The turkey sandwich was loaded. We went down to the boat launch and had a a great view to enjoy a wonderful lunch.”
