“Highly recommended this company for its service and craftsmanship! I rarely leave reviews, but Chilton’s is worth it. We hesitated initially because we felt that a dining set was beyond our budget, but now that it is in our home, we can see it will last for generations to come. And we will not be filling landfills with cheap furniture that degrades in a few years time. Also a truly human and positive service experience - from visiting the Portland showroom to friendly and prompt communication and delivery. Highly, highly recommend!”

“What a darling shop. You can tell the owners really have such attention to detail for well curated beautiful colorful handmade items xIt’s like a independently owned small shop with free-people meets pier one vibes but with nice high-end and not mass produced but handmade items mostly art, Knick knacks, scarves/clothing, jewelry and home decor.great place to buy gifts, genuine customer service, could not be happier with my experiences here! Fantastic go-to for gifts where you can always find something special.”

“My fiance found this shop and was so excited to bring me in after telling me all about it. It's small but has so much in it, tarot cards, many other types of useful card sets like ones for relationships and community, books, prints, jewelry, honey, perfume, pins, and even grinders (there are these exceptionally tiny ones that are so cute). It's a very interesting and lovely place that has no end of cool and gorgeous stuff. If you're looking for a witchy/eclectic store you'd love this place.”

“Laura is not only helpful but a delight to talk to. So happy to have found Irish rasher bacon and black and white puddings for an Irish breakfast fix away from Ireland. For any of those of you looking for kooky and classy objets then you’ve found the place. Can’t recommend the place enough!”

“What a way to spend 20 minutes!Walked in and was blown away by the openness and natural light flooding in. Displays of products around the store, minerals in mostly alphabetical order. Great selection of fine quality items! Would highly recommend stopping by to see at the least.”

“As an English expat visiting from Arizona, I was thrilled to find this shop. Their grocery items are really fresh too, not like the close to expiring stuff you usually find at Amazon. I bought a bag of Quality Street for my sister and some Twiglets for myself. I only wish I had had more time to look around and that I'd bought another bag of Twiglets. Wonderful, helpful staff! Wish we lived closer!”

“We've been to their Quechee flagship store and glassblowing studio, where the Simon Pearce artisans create beautiful works of art, so being able to visit their Portland retail store is great. They have gorgeous handblown glass drinkware, serveware, lighting, candle holders, pumpkins, animals, and other items. We especially love the evergreen trees. They also have hardwood bowls, trays, cutting boards, etc. and pottery. ”

“It was decent for an outlet store, but I was looking for more of the standard retail for flies and local information that I've become use to from the company”

“Absolutely love this store! Whenever I visit from California I make it a point to stop in here and buy something. The staff is extremely friendly and kind. Everything here is beautiful and a great value. Highly recommend stopping here when checking out Portland!”

“I was surprised to see a couple of 1 stars in the reviews. I am suspicious of reviews that are one sentence. Also a few reviews that use the same words!! I had a wonderful experience at this shop. The owner let me in a few minutes before she opened. She was putting merchandise on the sidewalk but let me and my dog go in. I found her to be very friendly and talked about our hometowns. I bought a vintage hobnail tea light holder and a Little Tikes solid wood table and chair set. The price for the candle holder was the going rate. The price I got for the table and chairs was fantastic!!!! I would overlook those questionable reviews and go browse the store.”

“Such a tranquil shop to be found in downtown Portland. The Mrs. said she had a feeling that she'd find a new crystal while we're here, and this is the place we found it. The specimens are amazing, the variety extensive, and the environment is very welcoming. Everything about this place was great, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend if you're looking for crystals for yourself or as a gift for another.”

“Nestled in the second oldest surviving building in Portland this hidden gem is a must see. Surrounded by some of the most beautiful textiles you will ever see or feel this is a must stop if you are in Portland if for no other reason than to see the amazing decor and gorgeous original architecture showcasing these beautiful blankets and throws, candles and accessories. This place is is amazing eye candy for all of your senses. The brainchild of two life long Mainers it is a constant flux of new colors and materials which won’t disappoint. Hans is a wealth of energy and information and couldn’t be more helpful and has been an incredible guide every time I’ve stopped With textiles featured in the guest rooms of The Canopy hotel and the showrooms of Chilton furniture I was thrilled to eventually find this showroom nestled in the heart of Portland harbor.Having made multiple purchases I can attest to the quality and longevity of their products as well as the beauty it provides for your home.If you are in Portland and love beauty, charm, comfort or simply architecture do not dare to miss this shop. And tell Hans I sent you (I’m sure he won’t remember me but it sounds so connected doesn’t it?)”

“Best craft store around. I'm a cross stitcher, and my boyfriend likes to make fleece blankets, so this store is one we frequent often. I have never gone there looking for a color floss and left empty handed. They always have deals, and they have SO many choices for fabrics, it's unbelievable. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend for any crafting needs!”

“My review relates to the staff of the Portland West Elm store, not the company itself. In particular, Leslie H. and Suzan E. were extremely helpful in what was a somewhat disorganized delivery process. Ordered 2 chairs for delivery to our home in MD, but soon after asked if they could be rerouted to Portland instead. This ultimately involved an order that was never actually on its way, a cancellation of that order with a new order placed to the new destination, several phone calls saying that the original chairs were being delivered within the next 30 minutes to MD, and no followup communication from West Elm about when the new order would be delivered (it eventually was, but we wouldn't have known unless I called the distribution center). Throughout the process, both Leslie and Suzan were dogged in tracking everything and keeping notes. They were patient with me when I was frustrated and were great about following up and keeping me informed. I realize that we complicated things by changing our delivery address, but it shouldn't have been that difficult to accommodate this. Kudos to Leslie and Suzan for compensating for poor company processes with great customer service!”
