“A great shop full of great people. It has a small town shop feel where they try and get to know you and your needs. They are always willing to help even if no sale is involved and very knowledgeable about everything to do with bicycles. Would never buy a bike from a big box store again.”

Arguably, Mike would be wiser just selling and not expressing his concern, but it's obvious that he's in this business because he loves it and cares about it. I don't really know Mike, and I don't have some vested interest here, but I've been the guy, working in the shop, who knows his stuff and cares about it (motorcycles, back in the 90's). You want the guy who flatters to get your dollar? Go to a different shop. You want the guy who knows his stuff and will give you the best product and service he knows how to give you? “This is what a LBS is supposed to feel like. Kind, honest, knowledgeable staff who generally seem to care about all types of riders. No elitism, no judgment felt at all (sometimes that can be a bike shop stereotype). These are just good people that do great work at extremely good prices.
