“I'm not sure why this Fulton / Columbia Bank only has a 3.8 but I figured I'd be the sixth review.

I got a loan from (then Columbia Bank) for my business ROCKDEEP. The Gents I met with were nice enough... and when making deposits or withdrawals in the Clinton Location the ladies were ALWAYS so nice who sat inside the glass bubble.

I often needed to wire money to my factories in China and they handled it each time with patience and grace.

The tellers behind the secret wall were always nice and let me know if my loan payment was coming up or late. I really appreciated it.

Unfortunately me getting the loan was under false pretenses, as I fudged numbers on my loan application (which I take full responsibility for).

While I make no excuses for my actions, we had four stores in the area and over 90 employees we employed and making sure everyone got their checks was my priority #1.

While others who get loans for large sums of money buy crazy cars, and houses, we were just making sure business needs were being met.

We were doing so well (made payments on time), we applied for a second loan later the same year to buy more inventory and of course keep our employees paid on time.

The Bank mistakenly deposited the same amount of money into our account twice. Not realizing at first what had happened since it was around the holidays (this was right before the pandemic) the Bank Execs called and said what mistake had occurred.

Of course once realizing (THAT was why we seemed to be doing so well) the issue, and we could not reverse the amount back into the account, the bank later reported it to the Feds and I did 6 months in Lewisburg FPC. (I was sentenced to 24 months but got out in 6 thank goodness)

While I learned a big lesson, I never held anything against the folks at the Bank because they took a chance on my company when so many other banks didn't.

It took us fudging numbers on our loan app, but that didn't guarantee us getting the loan.

I say if you are a business needing a loan, check them out. Just dont do what I did. (lol)

The rates and terms were excellent. I just hope Banks like Fulton/Columbia can start seeing the potential in other businesses without them needing to fudge numbers on their app and watch them prosper.

For a little while that loan allowed me to employ over 90 people and open up four stores and really make an impact in peoples lives.

To some the dream is running your own business so you can provide for your family. ... to some of us being able to employ others so THEY can provide for their families is the real flex.

I hope anyone reading this review learns something... and I hope you reach that goal.
