“Today I had to transfer money to my elderly grandmother who has been having a lot of trouble walking this week, so I had to assist her with walking into the building. There was a short line which I explained to the guy at the front that I had to transfer money directly to her account, and he asked if she needed to sit I said, yes please, if there is a chair I can let her sit while I wait in line, that would be great! I had no problem waiting and then assisting her with standing at the counter if i had to. The sweet guy at the front ended up asking around to the employees who are seated at a desk if they could help us so my grandma could sit while we did the transaction. He found a sweet lady to help us, and she was great. Very helpful, explained the process to my grandma and myself, and of course my grandmother was able to sit comfortable instead of standing assisted. KUDOS to these employees who have great morals and care about the elderly community. I wish I would have asked for their names, I feel so bad I cant thank them and shout them out by name. “AFL-CIO Employees Federal Credit Union sits on the corner of New Jersey AVE and F St NW in the AFT building. It is a convenient location for all those that are part of a labor union and/or work for a labor union. At first I thought that this was nothing more than an ATM location. But after being around for a bit, and talking with a lot of coworkers, I came to realize that this was a functioning location with a counter complete with tellers. I came here to open up a new account and I find myself leaning more towards credit unions than banks. To note, I had started the application process online to open and account and never heard back from anyone at the credit union for months. I ended up coming into the branch and talking with the staff member responsible with opening accounts. I explained that I had applied to open an account online and that there was no movement. I guess it was a misstep on their behalf. I then asked if I could have hard copies of the application and I would get it filled out and return later that day. Luckily for me, the application process with hard copies was much easier to complete than it was online. Just be aware of the forms you are giving, they tried to slip in an application to apply for a loan for me. Within less than two hours I had my forms complete and I was heading back to this location to hand them in. All I had to do was wait for the forms to be processed by the staff member and then I would hear back from them. True to her word, I had an email shortly thereafter that my account was created and that I would received my checks and card within 7-10 business days. Here is where I thought I was being fooled with. After that email, I did receive an email with my account information. However, when I went to the website to enter this information to confirm and setup my account online, I kept getting denied access. At that point I called the customer service number to figure out what was going on. The lady that helped me via this route was super nice and figured out that they did not give me the complete account number, it was missing a single digit. After that was cleared up, my online account (and mobile account for that fact) were setup. The ten days I was supposed to get my checks and card had come and gone. I called the number for the staff member that initially helped me and had no luck when it came to making contact. At that point, I decided to drop into the branch again. Talked with the staff member and found out that a request for checks and my card was never completed and sent. Once that was cleared up I finally received me card and checks and was able to finally use this account for the reason I set it up.”

“Far and away the easiest place to deposit, store, and withdraw large amounts of cash for considerations, mobile yoga and dance services, and quick real estate transactions, in the entire, and I do mean entire, greater Washington DC metropolis. I would go so far as to say there is no better place on the East Coast for Lobbying. You don't have to have the cash on you for long, ha ha, with 100 muggers across the street and 435 located up around the bend. The bills are a bit new and crispy, but they pack readily into fanny-assed candy a** packs, and the locals are more than happy to help you move these because they sell them back to their own government for more than face value. Don't wander too far by car. Recommend going on foot. to the bay, and renting a speedboat.”
