Uptown Cheapskate College Park, open since 2019, is a quality store offering low prices on new and second-hand clothing, shoes, handbags, and jewelry from favorite brands and designers. It is not your average thrift store, providing a wide selection of current, stylish items in great condition, organized by size and color, and feels more like a regular name brand retail store. Customers can earn cash on the spot when selling their like-new fashions. The store is kept in impeccable shape and the staff is super-friendly and available to help. However, the buying counter is frequently frustrating and unorganized, sometimes closed 45 minutes after opening, which can be a waste of time. Some negative reviews stem from sellers unsatisfied with the money offered, but it is a thrift store and top notch money is not the expectation. This location stands out for its callback, text back, and email back process after merchandise inspection, creating a quick turnaround and a more efficient selling experience compared to other locations. They are also noted as more willing to buy items. While the buying process can be improved, the store itself is great, with great prices for branded clothes and something for everyone in the community.
I found a brand new sweatshirt that costed $70 for only $13. They have a better selection compared to the Bowie location. A couple of items here are overpriced so you really have to know what you’re looking for.
