“One thing for sure is that military life has some drawbacks, but from time to time you come across some pretty awesome benefits, and access to exchanges and commissaries is definitely one of them.
Whenever I'm up in the Northern Virginia area near the five-sided building with five rings and need to stock up on supplies, I find that the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commissary is quite a bit more affordable than the local Harris Teeter. While it may not be as massive as some of the larger commissaries around the country, it's certainly not small either, and it's very well stocked across the board with most of the groceries and household items you might need.
On this particular visit, I picked up a few essentials along with some grapes and a little cheese. I also made a stop by the hot bar, where I grabbed some rib pieces and barbecue wings. Everything was fresh, and it made for a great meal to enjoy outside on a beautiful day with the weather cooperating perfectly.
One of the things I appreciate most about this commissary is how easy it is to get in, find what you need, and get back on your way. The selection is solid, the prices are competitive, and the store is generally well maintained. Whether you're doing a full grocery run or just grabbing a few items, it gets the job done without any hassle.
If you're in the military, eligible to shop there, and happen to be in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by when you need groceries. The savings can add up, and it's one of those benefits that reminds you there are still a few perks that come along with military life.”

When I arrived at the store 🏬 , I parked 🚗 in the designated pickup area. My order was brought out in less than three minutes! The Aldi employee was friendly, polite, and efficiently loaded my groceries 🛍 into my vehicle.

“Bolling Commissary is always a clean, well-kept spot that has all your basic grocery needs. I used to shop here regularly when I lived closer because it was quiet, organized, and always stocked.
That said, this review is all about the sushi inside the Commissary—and let me just say, it’s hands down the BEST sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled all over the world, including Japan, and this sushi is truly a hidden gem. It’s always fresh, always delicious, and never disappoints.
My go-to is the chicken teriyaki roll, but I also love the shrimp tempura roll. Honestly, I could eat it every single day. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area—definitely give it a try!”
“Very good customer service and a good variety of healthy food choices. It’s a little more expensive than I would like, but no different from what I have paid at other Whole Foods, and I think I get what I pay for. Over the last 5 years I’ve gone to this store once or twice per month. But I am now adding a stop at their salad bar at least once per week as my exercise route takes me right past it. So much better than running to McDonald’s and back (guilty). Cold salad bar is excellent with wide variety, olive bar is definitely good, hot foods are hit and miss.”

“I had an excellent customer service experience with Terron. After waiting in a long line, he greeted me with a smile and was overall very pleasant. Because of this, I felt comfortable enough to ask him about an item which was not stocked on the shelf and which was the primary reason for my visit. He told me he knows it is in stock and if I would like for him to grab it for me. Needless to say, I was taken aback by this above and beyond offer and quickly agreed only if it would not create trouble for him. He finished ringing up my items, disappeared for all of 30 seconds and was back with options of the requested item for me to choose from. The customer behind me wanted the item, too, and was happy to get one as well.
Hire more people like Terron. He is exemplary!”

“I went to store #342 on 12/13/25. Michelle the cashier at the Giant was so nice and very professional! Michelle took the time to help me with my giant app that all of a sudden was acting like it wasn't trying to function well, Michelle took her time helping me and it ran into the time that she was supposed to be getting off of work. Michelle Still was willing to help me it was very frustrating for me and got very overwhelming Michelle helped me through the overwhelming and getting my giant app working as should have! Michelle was a blessing at that time of help! I could have left the store feeling pissed off overwhelmed and some more, but I did not thanks to Michelle! I left the store feeling great ? Thank You Michelle ? I really hope that Michelle will get the recognition for going way and beyond best customer service cashier from Giant Food Corporation! On February the 4th 2026 I went to the store 3:42 4119 Branch avenue Marlow heights Maryland 20748. The cashier Matthew was very professional and such the perfect gentleman! I really appreciate it how Matthew greeted me and welcome me to shopping at Giant! That makes you want to shop more at Giant the one where Matthew works!
