“Would we stay here again? The answer is "yes" without hesitation. The hosts exhibited just the right blend of friendly "hosting" and allowing us independent coming and going, as if we were in our own home. The beautiful room itself was nearly like being in a late-Victorian museum but very relaxed and functional. Private bathrooms complete the checklist. Breakfast was fabulous and was made even better by the terrific conversation with our host, earning Hollerstown Hill BnB its well-deserved kudos.”

“Hill House was delightful, the perfect escape for an anniversary weekend getaway. The room was exquisitely decorated in a manner that was elegant, personal, and comfortable. The bathroom bordered on luxurious! It wasn’t what I expected in a bathroom in a nearly 150 year old town house.Check in was easy and and unfussy. Damian keeps the process as informal as can be - sign her book and get the key! She and her husband also maintain a bowl of quarters near the door for guests to use as necessary for the metered parking on the street.Breakfast was to die for. I’ll just leave it at that. The location of Hill House is perfect for exploring downtown Frederick. Everything of interest is within easy walking distance, including some fantastic restaurants. You won’t regret staying at Hill House B&B. My wife and I will be back for sure.”

“First, let me state that the front desk staff and breakfast staff (especially Maria) are excellent. They are the best I've ever experienced at a hotel.

That being said - the hotel rooms need some updating. The kitchen floor tile is rippled and the dirt has accumulated for years. Their cleaning method to get the dirt out just doesn't work. The carpet is outdated and needs to be replaced. It's just not up to my cleanliness standards. The furniture is uncomfortable for a long stay - you can put up with it for a week or two but after that you realize how uncomfortable it is. The toilet seat in the bathroom is a split-seat design. If you are sharing the room with your husband or a male significant other, you have to wipe between the split - not to be indelicate but men tend to spray/dribble and a woman has to wipe it down before sitting (sorry for being so descriptive). Most of the cleaning staff are excellent, a few not so much. We had to request items that should have been placed in the room during cleaning more than a few times. I might also mention that the toilet paper and paper towels in the rooms are really cheap, especially considering the nightly rate. However, I do highly recommend this hotel. It is a nice place and everyone, including other guests, are very friendly. I would just suggest to Plamondon that they rehab the rooms - they are definitely showing their age.”

“The owner has wonderful knowledge of his spirits! I thought I had tried or at least heard of most vodkas… not the case! He said I should try a cucumber infused bottle by Wagner. It really fits the spot, refreshing too!!”

“This hotel checked every box that we needed except breakfast. No hot eggs and meat. No pool or hot tub, but we weren't looking for those amenities on this night. Good bed, nice shower, clean rooms.”

“Food and Beer were great! Parking was a nightmare. Apparently one patron was so anxious to get inside they couldn't Park properly. It made it very difficult for cars to pass by”

“We had a good time, but the breakfast was the same every day, if you stay there for several days you can get bored quickly. A different price was charged for the room every day.”

“This is a very nice hotel to stay if you find your self in Frederick. I had an early event that it would be helpful if I was able to get early check it. While they didn’t have to, they did everything they could to accommodate. Merritt (who I later found out was just covering from a nearby sister hotel) did everything in his power to help me. These folks really understood “hospitality”. I just wish I had caught Merritt before he returned to his sister hotel of Residence Inn to thank him again. I would happily spend the money to stay here again or at the Residence Inn, thanks to the cleanliness of the room and the customer service.”

“Not bad. Get what you pay for. Location is great for what we need. The room was outdated, but I'm not looking for a five-star resort, just a place to get some sleep. All in all it was great”

“I had purchased a room through Priceline like I always do for the last 2 months. So for me this was very first time I had an issue with this Hotel.I did not have a microwave and no fridge ? I mentioned it and instead of just changing my room instantly I was told some discount rooms are like that? Maybe she was new but still..I never was told that anywhere because even Motel 6 for $59.99 still has a fridge and microwave. So other wards I am to be hungry ??. Room was exchanged ??✨

“We booked 2 rooms here 10/23/2024 to 10/25/2024. They honored our first-floor request which we were grateful for. Both bathtubs were peeling and the water while never cold was never hot either it was always just warm. The rooms were carpeted, AC worked fine. There were no drawers in the room and the breakfast had no hot food or fruit just a lot of prewrapped pastry and muffins. I would stay here again.”

“Rooms: Most rooms are ok. Some not so much

Nearby activities: Close to a few parks and biking trails.

Safety: Safe place

Food & drinks: Breakfast served by awesome kitchen staff! They pay attention if you request things.

Noteworthy details: If you have an issue, they strive to make it right. However, they're quick with a ban order if you don't check out on time(I overslept). It takes quite a bit to actually get ahold of the tentative person who is responsible for trying to repeal the ban”
