“We took our daughter to buy her a birthday bear utilizing the birthday deal, and she loved it. The bear was only 1 dollar based on her age, but the clothes are regular price.”

“Excellent game store with excellent staff and an owner who seems to really take an interest in customer wants and needs. I find myself making pretty frequent detours over to the Eastern Market station these days just to go browse here again and see if anything jumps out at me.”

“Perfect store for grands to spoil their bundles of joy. Elizabeth is kind, knowledgeable, and will allow you to indulge in your excitement over your new baby without a hint of impatience. Her products for sale are unique, high quality, and reasonably priced. The shop is bright, clean, and pleasant to peruse. I highly recommend it for next shower gift, or just to pick up a little something special for the ones you love.”

“Yay! What a fun store! We visited this location in Springfield last Saturday. The kids really enjoyed looking at all. The different types of Lego sets and we built some throughout the store. We each got a Lego set to build at home. It was a lot of fun. I would definitely go back. Great spot for gifts too!!”

“Lil Waffle said "if they just stayed put at the register..." As if they don't have two floors of toys to stock and clean up after your poorly supervised children. You just want this small business with 4 rooms, 2 floors, and 3 exits to sit at the register and wait on you? Then when you leave, they can just spend the whole night doing everything else required to run a business. Even Walmart cannot stand by their 45 registers waiting for you, Walmart makes you check out yourself and then audits your work ethic on the way out. Idiot.”

“I was invited to my colleague's baby shower. I didn't know what to get. Staff were so kind and nice, they did a phenomenal job with gift wrapping (they got all kinds of wraps, ribbons, even cards). I always thought this place was some kid bookstore, gym, thanks to Google, I now know that this place sells dolls, toys, baby bibs, shoes etc. Really local, really nice, makes me want to go back to being a kid.”

“If you're into antique toy soldiers, this house shop is one of the only stores left of its kind in the entire country. The man who runs it opens the storefront only on Saturdays by placing a sign on his rowhouse on Capitol Hill. Once inside, he'll answer any question you have about antique toys. If you are a collector, you'll find two large rooms filled with perfectly kept sets of soldiers from many ways priced at hundreds of dollars.”

“A great neighborhood institution and easy to reach via Metro or bus. It is a calm, quiet, peaceful shop filled with the best greeting card collection in DC, scarves, children's toys, gifts. Suprabha, the owner, is terrific and can help you find anything you might need. She makes every customer feel special.”

“Came here with my son, two friends and their babies. We came to check out a story time sing along class. We made our reservations online ahead of time for $20/kid and 1 adult. This also included 2 hours of open play time afterwards. When you get there, you are greeted and checked in. There is complimentary coffee and water. They show you the cubbies for your shoes and other belongings. The storytime sing along with speech pathologist Corinne was awesome! I didn't think our babies (all under 6 months) would really care for the activity, but they loved it! So engaging, educational and fun! The open play area was very soothing and Montessori-esque with simple wooden toys and various creative stations. I do think the cost is a bit steep at $20, but if you do the class and your little one enjoys the open play time, it is definitely worth it! Will keep an eye out for future events at Nook!”

“If you're looking for a store with owners who genuinely care about their customers, then look no further than this one. I recently found myself in an emergency situation and was in dire need of some assistance. Luckily, I stumbled upon this store and was met with the kindness and compassion of Ms. Paula and Linda, the owners. These two women are some of the most kind-hearted people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They knew exactly what I needed and went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the attention to detail, professionalism, and love that they showed me and my family during a difficult time.If you're looking for a store with owners who truly care about their customers, then you won't be disappointed with this one. Thank you, Ms. Paula and Linda, for being such wonderful human beings and for running a store that truly makes a difference in people's lives.”

“This doesn't pertain to any customer looking for a specific toy but I believe that it should be noted that the cashier Jackson is what a business should look for in an employee. I asked if he minded taking a photo of me and my family to remember our time in Alexandria before our move. He had no problem helping us with our problem. I highly suggest checking out this hidden gem. Thank you again Jackson!!!!-Adams Family & dog's”

“This year, due to obvious circumstances, my husband and I wanted to shop exclusively at local businesses for Christmas. This wasn't super difficult except when it came to all the kids in our lives. We didn't know if a local kids store, and we stumbled on this place. I was blown away with the adorable stuff in here. Yes, it's small, but that did not mean inventory was low. I LOVED finding unique gifts that I know my nieces and nephews won't get from other people shopping at big box stores. And with a newborn myself, I was thrilled to find that they carry Magnetic Me onesies (which we love). I am happy to support this small business and don't feel like I'm doing any favors in doing so because I feel lucky for the finds!”

“We’ve taken our 1 1/2 year old here a few times and we all enjoy looking at the huge variety of toys offered. The owner is incredibly nice and personable. The prices are decent too. Will definitely keep returning to this store!”

“Fun experience for the kids and they spent about 30 minutes playing on the toy set on the lower level.Good and friendly customer service from the Lady at the till allowing the kids to explore as they wished. It’s not a very large space but they manage to pack a lot in without it feeling cramped.Picked a few items and the prices for these were competitive and always love to shop at an independent store which I’m told this is.Overall great experience and only a 4 because of size and limited range. Will definitely go back with the children.”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting GameStop in Baileys Crossroads, and I must say that my experience was exceptional. The standout factor during my visit was the outstanding customer service provided by Amir. Not only was he knowledgeable about the products and games, but he also went above and beyond to assist me in finding what I was looking for. After a disappointing experience at another GameStop in Pentagon, this visit was a refreshing change. Amir's professionalism and willingness to help made my trip worthwhile. I will definitely be returning to this location for my gaming needs and would highly recommend it to others”

“Walked in about 7:15 pm on 12/14/23 with my boyfriend for a PS5 we ordered at about 5:50 pm. There was a woman associate with an FBI (Full Blooded Italian?? ??‍♀️ lol) hat on. She attended to us immediately. Our order wasn't ready as she was alone and didn't have time to in such short notice. She went straight to the back and grabbed our PS5. My boyfriend gave her a hard time about not having big bags to put the PS5 in. She was respectful yet stern with her response which I completely respect! She gave us a box for our PS5 and now we are home happily setting up our new toy lol. My boyfriend admitted he was wrong and respected the way she handled the situation. I hope she sees this because she's doing a great job!!”
