Just picked our Border Terrier and Golden Doodle up from here after a week stay, they had the bath service at the end of their vacation. So happy to say they are happy healthy and smell beautiful! We came to Prince Frederick Kennels after a bad experience at a kennels in Owings and were apprehensive about leaving them. All our fears were unnecessary. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

What is there not to love about this place?!!! it's beautiful, serene, calm, and just a very relaxing environment. We came to the firework show and we were able to put up our little tent so that the bugs would not attack us and we would stay out of the sun. I completely forgot that they have so many tables in umbrellas already set up, but that's OK. We found a spot and others had their pop-ups open as well. I even got to take a mini nap because it was so relaxing. The wine slushy are so good. You might as well buy the souvenir cup and get your $20 refill.

Brick Wood Fired Bistro

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Brick Wood Fired Pizza on a busy Saturday evening. We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and waited approximately 15 minutes for a table. The restaurant was bustling, with a full bar and several TVs showing different programs. We were seated in the bar area, which was rather noisy, but we could still hear each other and carry on a conversation.

We started with the Beet Salad, which was HUGE and easily enough for three people to share. It had lots of fresh, crunchy lettuce with a delicious, slightly sweet dressing. However, despite being called a beet salad, there were only five slices of beets, I would have liked more beets, but the salad was very good. It also came with breaded and fried goat cheese fritters, which were a wonderful addition and made the salad more filling. I would definitely order it again.

Next, we shared a Margherita Pizza, which was delicious - best pizza I have had in a while. What stood out was the tomato sauce, which tasted so fresh and vibrant. The pizza had approximately six slices, and after eating two, I found myself wanting more and guilted my husband into giving the rest of his 4th piece to me.

We also ordered the Meatball Appetizer, which we enjoyed as our final course instead of dessert. It came with three generously sized meatballs, each about six bites, served over polenta. The meatballs were very tasty and filling, and the polenta was a nice addition that made the appetizer almost a small meal in itself.

I also tried one of their seasonal specialty cocktails made with applejack. It had a nice apple flavor without being too strong. I enjoyed it and thought the fresh apple and cranberry garnish was pretty.

Our waiter, Mike, did a good job taking care of us. When I requested fresh plates and forks, he brought them to us.

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner very much. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the service was good. Although the bar area was lively and noisy, we could still enjoy our conversation.

I'd happily return to Brick Wood Fired Pizza, especially for another Margherita Pizza and that enormous Beet Salad, although hopefully with a few more beets next time!
