“There are plenty of quarter operated washers and dryers, in multiple sizes. The place is clean, and there's decent amount of parking (some around the side). There are restaurants and a grocery store nearby if you are hungry while you wait. They also offer drop off services.”

“This is the best laundromat I run into traveling all over the country. Good price with 32 mins free dryer. On top of that Ms. Flor has been so helpful and attentive. Best service. Thank you ?”

“Ballad of the Takoma Threads

Where tie-dye flutters, banners sway,
On Carroll’s curve by vendor array,
Past hemp-clad poets, drums that spark,
The cleaners hum in Takoma Park.

No bleach to choke the daisied street,
No plastic tang, no chemical heat,
Here, soapnuts bloom, the earth reclaimed,
With citrus oils the shirts un-stained.

Patchouli drifts from woven shawls,
A busker bends his tune through calls,
But in that storefront, pressed and neat,
They conjure miracles discreet.

Your linen kissed by compost air,
Returns renewed without a care,
The wool coat, mud-streaked from protest rain,
Emerges whole, unmarked by strain.

They speak in whispers — vinegar, thyme,
Of stains released with touch and time,
A splash of tea, old market dust,
Fades gently in their leafy trust.

Among the co-ops, bulk bins tall,
Beside the muraled brick and sprawl,
The friendly market threads repair,
With nature’s hand and conscious care.

So raise your banners, stitched and green,
Your fabrics fresh, your conscience clean,
For even cotton, silk, and seams,
Deserve Takoma's gentle dreams.”

“Stumbled upon this laundromat today thanks to Google and found it to be open on a Sunday despite Yelp indicating 'closed'. The front door was propped open and no staff was on duty and no phone number is listed anywhere on the outside or the inside of the business other than what I found in my Google search (301) 270-4799...so if you lose any money or have any issues using the machines, it appears you're on your own! I did notice they marked a few broken machines with a yellow piece of paper that read 'out of order'. Still, I decided to take a chance because the place is clean and quiet (hardly any customers inside which is unusual for a Sunday) with no tvs or music blaring like at other laundromats and there's limited parking in the front and around the corner. To my surprise, I only saw 1 laundry basket so if there's more than one customer doing laundry at the same time, they have to share! To the owner of this business: PLEASE GET MORE LAUNDRY BASKETS!! They also don't seem to sell laundry detergent and dryer sheets so bring your own or stop at the food Co-op across the street (which is pricey). I also noticed they only have top loader washers with the agitator in the middle which I like better than front loader washers and they only cost $2 which is a major plus! All the dryers appear to be front loaders and also cost $2 which is rather expensive to dry! I usually spend a dollar or $1.25 to dry my clothes at any other laundromat! So while I'm not saving money by coming to this laundromat, I do like the peace and quiet, the cleanliness and the top loader washers with agitators that are very hard to find in most laundromats nowadays. Therefore, I'll likely return.”
