Laundry in Hyattsville, MD

“The laundromat is wonderful, and the employees are great. However, I have two suggestions:

1. The dryer doors do not stay open. When loading clothes, the door can swing shut and hit you. I often have to wedge clothes in just to keep it open, which is very frustrating.

2. I understand there is a one-hour policy where unattended laundry bags are discarded. I suggest keeping the bags instead of throwing them away. I had four bags—after putting my clothes in the washer, I left the bags nearby and moved my clothes to the dryer using a cart. When I went back to get my bags, they were gone because an employee had thrown them away. I know they were following policy, but doing laundry takes about an hour, and placing bags above or under machines is common. It would be better to store them somewhere so customers can retrieve them if needed. I had to dig out my laundry bags from the trash.

Aside from these issues, I really like this laundry, and the employees are very helpful.”

“American Mega Laundromat now has Five New & Efficient Superb Car Wash Machines. The machines offer a high pressure soap and water feature with hose nozzle them a super foamy brush session and finally a high pressure rinse. Machines take both cash and card payments. I used a ten dollar ten minute service which I found sufficient. (Note untangle your hoses before payment. Once on the clock keep moving to facilitate your wash. Inside I was greeted by the owner Seyid and instructed by his manager Yessinia. My suv has a rooftop storage container that is not allowed in a drive through car wash that has height restrictions. The lot is spacious newly paved with a generous area dedicated to car washing. Conveniently located near the entrance of the Hyattsville Metro Station with another rear entrance off Agee Road. Look for the large electronic colorful sign. This will be my “go to “ destination for a car wash. Well done Seyid and staff!”

“I went to easy my clothes on Saturday morning and had the best experience ever! Mercedes the lady that was working was so nice towards me helped me with the new card machine because I was struggling and was so kind to me most definitely would come back.”

He help to getting in to the dryer I haven’t gone to Laundry matt for decades Dryers are very efficient dry quick and Mrs Ann she really nice very helpful as well .If you looking for wash a dryer highly recommend.”

“I dropped off a couple suits last month and everything came out very nicely. They have pretty reasonable prices for dry cleaning compared to other places in the area. And their seamstress was also able to fix a ripped ankle hem on one of my suit pants within a couple days.

Person at the cashier was helpful and kind too.”

“Very nice and convenient! I go here when I'm too lazy from work and skip out on 3-4 days of laundry! They also sell soaps, fabric softener and dryer sheets.”

“The laundromat has a food vendor inside and I purchased some $7 chicken taquitos. They only accept cash or Zelle so I sent the lady behind the counter $10 via Zelle.

However, she didn’t not immediately receive it. She willingly showed me proof of non-receipt and I showed her proof of funded payment. So we both looking at each other and she giving me this look like “I don’t know what to tell you.” And I’m looking at her like, “I’m leaving here with something.” ? But we were both kind and trying to figure out the reason for the delay. I even called my bank.

Anywho, she calls over who I believe to either be the manager or owner. After he assessing the situation, he offers to pay cash for my food. I was pleased and genuinely thanked him. I didn’t interact with any of the other staff but my encounters with Maria and the manager/owner was pleasant given the circumstances. I later received notification that Maria received my monies, but I am thankful I didn’t have to ride back there to receive my food. The chicken taquitos were good for “laundromat food.” Moving forward, I will only bring cash.”

“Ok so I convinced myself to "pay for peace" and tried a laundry service. Yes, I have a washer and dryer in my apartment. Yes, there's even a laundry room in my building. But when life get's busy and I get lazy, it's time to outsource. Laundry mom was GREAT. They picked up my laundry before 7am on a Weds and dropped it off clean and folded at 7am the next morning. They were even accommodating to my request about types of detergent used. 100% worth it.”

“This is best place to come and wash your clothes. If you want clean clothes and clean environment this is the place to come. I've lived out there for 4 years and this is only place I'll go to wash my clothes. Love all the staff there.”
