220 Wood Road, BraintreeI’m a writer and travel often for book tours and speaking events. During a trip to Boston, I stayed in Braintree and wandered into Widowmaker knowing nothing about it. What a find. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff and regulars made me feel welcome, and someone I’m pretty sure was the owner gave me a little grief about my Southern accent. I always take that as a sign someone busting your chops as you being accepted as one of the locals.
The beer was delicious, with crazy ass flavors and names I’d never heard of. I wandered in by chance, but every visit since has been on purpose. Now, whenever I’m up north, Rino’s and Widowmaker are the two stops I always try to make.

Thank you to the wonderful employee that recommended the strawberry cheesecake ice cream, and the delicious frappe it made :) if it wasn’t so far from where I live I’d be here at least once a week.
