“Friendly owners. Large, quality selection of wines take up 1/3 of the store. Above average variety of snacks, cold sodas, energy drinks, etc. Toiletries and frozen foods. The ice cream selections could be improved. We were headed back from the beach and wanted ice cream. Not taking a star off for that, though, because there are tons of actual ice cream places nearby. We were just lazy and wanted ice cream and gas in one place.”

“I absolutely adore this little spot. I spent summers here growing up so have seen the change of business owners since Sally ran it, the woman who runs it now is so kind and friendly and has done some really great things for the store. You can't beat their sushi and lobster rolls. A great destination to take the pup for a walk if you are vacationing in the area, our dog Sweetpea always knows she is getting a treat when we walk up to the ice cream window. Also, love love love having a place to pick up some beers or wine before the beach without having to cross route 6!”

“I want to start by saying I have been going to Peterson's since I was a teenager and love this market/deli (now almost 60). However, today I was very disappointed after returning home with two Subs that one was missing 3 ingredients requested when ordered in person at the counter. The employee was writing down the order but somehow missed putting in pickles, onions and mayo on one Sub and, I ordered my usual at Peterson's and today it was made with so little meat, so I went back to the deli counter (because I really wanted my usual Sub) to share how it is usually made and requested additional meat and onions. I have ordered the same Subs pretty much all year and this is the first time this happened. I did return to only be told "It's busy" and "We weigh all the meat" was a bit Snarky in her tone and It was handed it back to me with a very disingenuous and borderline nasty "have a good day". I'll still go back but will never order a Sub from this particular employee again. Consistency and value matter to me and hope this was an isolated incident.”

“I'm in the area once a week, stopped in to get a sandwich. Got the hot Pastrami- delicious! But. There was a problem. I walked out with $70 worth of other great eats, chicken salad, shrimp, BBQ ribs, scallops and small NY strip. Wow... wish there was some place like this near Hingham. Not even the fruit center's home made food items or steaks beat this place. Highly recommend!”

“I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of random items here this morning needed for an impromptu recipe (chicken stock and stuffing mix). I truly expected to have to drive a bit further down the road to the dreadful supermarket in our area. I have to admit, I usually only pop in here for my Powerball tickets.Not only were the items in stock, but compared the price-gougers down the road at the big box store, my purchase seemed entirely reasonable. And as always, the staff was friendly in spite of the dark and stormy weather.Thank you for being open year round!”

“I have officially switch to this store. And to Shaws from S&S. This am went and grabbed some cold cuts, and a few items. The guy with the beard as well as his Coworker were extremely friendly and polite. The cashier's and the person bagging, both of a golder age were warm and friendly! Place is immaculate. Prices were very competitive. It's out of my way to go over the bass river bridge. But, today was great. And their carts are all new.”

“Ok, sometimes I feel like I am on candid camera when I'm in line for checkout. There's a clerk, Helen, that is a perpetual complainer, loudly..."of course I am not happy, I am cashier in a grocery store!" Overheard while checking out in the next line over. This is usual behavior for Helen. She's kind of a major character!! My clerk was totally opposite however, barely able to make eye contact whilst the bag guy was the happiest and most organized person ever! I'm retired and not in any hurry so I find it all amazing and fun! And I love Shaws!”

“Had the greatest time working here for 13.5 years. If a department head asks you for an inappropriate photo, management considers the issue resolved if you block them on your phone. I was also told to not contact HR in other circumstances.Their Worker's Compensation Insurance Affidavit expired August 1st, 2022. I got injured on the job 13 days afterwards. When I left the company in November 2023 they still hadn't gotten a new one. To this day, my leg is in constant pain from that incident.I am happily employed elsewhere now, thank god.”
