“Customer service by both Elis and the teller were excellent. Elis came right up to me, without even asking me if I had an account with them and treated me like I was their own. I needed a lot of quarters and he got them for me right away. Also, I had a lot of loose change that I wanted to count and trade in for more quarters and he gave me an office and a coin counter to count them. I feel like many banks would not give you the time of day for small requests such as this.”

“I transferred my brokerage accounts to Schwab from UBS over 10 years ago and have no regrets. Schwab has many robust tools available for self directed investors to make informed investment decisions based on time horizon and risk tolerance. If I do have an occasional question, I find my rep. to be very helpful. If he's unavailable, I call the 800 number and they're equally as helpful. For those who need investment advice and frequent hand holding, there are other options available, but you'll have to pay a commission or a fee that's charged as a percentage of your assets. Schwab can even introduce you to such a firm as they would then get a cut of the fees. For those who are inclined to do it themselves, Schwab's fees and services are extremely competitive. In fact, they no longer charge a commission on most stock trades, offer many no load mutual funds with low expense ratios and offer a huge selection of ETF's with very low expense ratios. I even have a checking account there and get reimbursed by Schwab monthly for all ATM fees that I incur.”

“The employees of this branch of TD Bank in Washington Square, Brookline, have always been extremely helpful, patient and friendly over a good many years. I won't mention individual names because the staff have changed over the years and I have dealt with so many helpful people, from tellers to bank managers.Besides my own personal checking account, I, as Executor of an Estate and Trustee of a Trust, have opened bank accounts for those entities at this branch. I have also used their free notary services a number of times. They have helped me navigate necessary overseas transfer of funds, among other things. They have always providedwhen asked, good advice.Also, it makes me feel good to be recognized and called by my name whenever I enter.”

The 2.8 rating had me skeptical, but my experience turned out to be completely different than what I expected.From the moment I entered, the receptionist greeted me with a smile and was incredibly professional. Despite not having an appointment, I was able to get walk-in service in less than 15 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise.My session was with Sabrina Almeida, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was friendly, professional, and extremely efficient. Not only did she get my account set up swiftly, but she also took the extra step to recommend some great restaurants and local spots nearby. As someone new to the city, this small gesture made a big difference to me.So all in all my visit to this branch was absolutely great, and it far exceeded my initial expectations. I called around to a few local banks regarding setting up Merchant Services along with Business Checking, and Sovereign Bank was the only one that went out of its way to answer all my Merchant Services questions before asking me to first set up a Business Checking account with them. Chris, the business accounts manager, truly cared that I understood all their services and associated fees beforehand. When I showed up for my appointment, the personnel were very friendly and knowledgeable. This made me even more happy to go with this banking company. Although my personal bank account is currently with a credit union in another state, I would imagine that this is also a great place for personal banking as well.”
