The Hilton Garden Inn Boston offers comfortable and clean rooms consistent with the brand, though some find them basic or a bit dated. The hotel is conveniently located near a large mall and highway access, providing a quieter setting on a side road. Guests note the staff, including housekeeping, maintenance, buffet, and front desk teams, are very friendly, helpful, and professional. Management is commended for a guest-centered approach, taking corrective action on issues and demonstrating a high level of customer service.
However, several negative experiences are reported. The on-site bar and restaurant receives criticism for mediocre food, limited dinner choices, unavailable menu items, and occasional issues like a spoiled drink or non-working credit card machine. The complimentary breakfast buffet is considered decent but includes some dry scrambled eggs. Housekeeping service can be infrequent, with rooms sometimes cleaned only once during longer stays. A large youth group caused rowdy noise in the late evening, and misplaced trash in the long hallways was an issue. The pool is closed indefinitely due to renovations, and erroneous room charges, while resolved, have occurred. The hotel is finishing renovations, which were not overly disruptive except for the pool closure.
The decor and the room itself was excellent. As for the on site restaurant, don't bother. Dinner was ok & breakfast left something to be desired. Plenty of other dining options nearby. The staff were helpful & friendly, especially Stacy who was our bartender for dinner.

Last minute booking for a Boston trip. Unfortunately, it's quite a ways from where I'm going in the Back bay - but at least I got to pay a Back bay price!
