Shabby old school full-size gas guzzling car offered as an upgrade to request for compact or economy. Car was in poor condition and stank of smoke. Car attendant was found sleeping in one of the vehicles. Once woken, he sprayed fragrance to try and hide smoke odor which only caused the cabin to smell like a low rent strip joint complete w men’s cologne. The gas tank was only half full and the cabin fabrics be were stained and worn out. The sound system showed previous users' device info. I felt like I was getting into somebody's car that I wouldn't want to know. If I wasn't desperate, I wouldn't have taken it.

Not one person tells you that you have to have a physical credit card in person!!!!!! Just so you know. If this is such a reputable company you would think that would be more clear! I even called costumer service and was “ supposedly “ able to pay on line no problem, until you wait in line twice for over 3 hours!!!!! Horrible!!!

Such a pleasure - easy to book, pick up, car was clean, the customer service agent was awesome!!!! I made a mistake and booked for only one day instead of the two I needed....called after pick up and the agent extended with no issue. Whole experience was great!

Eugene at budget saved our lives!! We couldn’t get a rental car anywhere else in boston, and every other budget we spoke with was unable to help us even though we had a reservation. All 5 stars go to Eugene for accommodating us with a smile and sense of humor, not charging us extra, and being efficient and kind. This man deserves a raise!

I’ve rented from here a few times for work.+ 1 The service is great, the people are very kind.+1 The last rental car was clean and met all of the needs for my week long trip.-1 Star: there’s a really long line and very slow turnover times. Be prepared to wait in a queue for 30-45mins.-1 Star: Came to pick up my reserved car today, and they say they don’t have any available.-1 Star: in my last rental, I got a ticket for an overdue inspection, and had to fill up the tires with air. Shouldn’t these things be included in the car inspection between customers?Again, the people are great, but operations / management needs improvement.

Have waited over 30 minutes and have moved only two places in the lin. There are still 5 places in front of us. Disgraceful.Update:We got here at 11:30. It’s 12:30 and we’re still not at the front of the line.

Pretty bad service. If you plan to rent/drop off the car at this location, be aware of the quality of the service you may get. Staffs left work even when they saw our car coming in before 6pm. No one answered our calls during the working hours. Very disappointing & irresponsible!

Very unresponsive and rude. I rented a car with Budget, picked it up at 1 bennette st location but had to get the car towed because of a small accident. It's been 36 hours since it's been towed and I was not given any update since then. I called them multiple times and the only answer they give me is that they can't give me any information (they themselves don't have any information). A couple of times when I called some representatives said they'll transfer the call to a person who can give me more info and they hung up on me.The towing services was very quick with their work. They returned the car to the location that the rental company asked them to (Budget rental services asked the towing company to return the car to a different location than what I chose as return location while booking). I was told by the towing services that the car was returned to Avis servicing center (apparently Avis and Budget are owned by the same entity). When I called Budget customer service a few minutes back they said they don't know which location the car is (HOW CAN THEY NOT IF IT'S ONE OF THEIR OWN SERVICING CENTERS???) and he also doesn't know when the car will be fixed and returned to the original location. But he had the audacity to tell me that they'll charge me until the car is returned to the return location I chose.Firstly they don't communicate among themselves, they don't give any useful information to the customer and they also charge the customer for their delays.As it is takes me forever to get through the automated service and get a hold of a person every single time I call, and when I do manage to get a hold of a person this is what happens?This is a very frustrating experience and I don't think I'll ever rent a car with them again.

Where to begin? Do I start with the teeny tiny little space that is the rental office? No place to sit while you are waiting and believe me, we had to wait. The lady that was behind the desk was very grumpy and not helpful. How about the VERY poorly written (hidden) rule regarding addt'l drivers and them needing their own credit card? My daughter and I planned this trip for my birthday for some time.I decided to rent a car because my car is older and this was a long trip. I thought it would relieve some stress. Ha! While filling out the on-line form,I saw that an addt'l driver needed a driver's license. We brought that only to be told that she could not drive at all. She needed her OWN credit card despite the car being rented with mine. Despite my many inquiries, I have yet to receive a response that shows me where this is written. That meant that I had to do all the highway driving which I absolutely hate to do. If I had known that before hand, I would have figured out something different and saved myself almost $500! Then, let's move on to the car itself. Toyota is usually a good name which is why I chose it. That car was so very uncomfortable. 2021 is not a good year for a Toyota Corolla. Also, between picking up the car in Cambridge and driving to my house, 2 nails ended up in the tire? Were they there before? I had no idea they were there. When we went to leave for our trip, the tire pressure was down to 20. Thinking it was just low, we filled it up and went off on our way. Over the course of my vacation, the tire pressure kept going down to 20. It took 2 trips to a tire place and EVERY SINGLE DAY of vacation to get that rectified. I would have gotten the addt'l insurance if my daughter was driving but she was not. You have to pay extra for Avis to take car of a low tire. I had AAA so I thought I would be fine. Little did I know. Finally, Friday, the day before we left, it was fixed. Next, let's move on to the serious lack of cust. service response. I've asked the question regarding the addt'l driver, I've left documentation regarding the low tire and finally, I asked if my drop off point could be modified because I wasn't feeling well and was thinking I had Covid. I really did not want to have to drive to Cambridge again. Either no response or minimal automatic. When I finally made it to Cambridge to drop off the car, the person behind the desk asked me if I the rental was ok, I said no. He then answered the phone and waved me off. I really, really hope I am NEVER in a position again to have to rent from Avis.

DO NOT USE! Their reps told us the location was closed at 4pm even though we had a 4:30 drop offWhen we went the next day to try and figure it out, we found out they were actually open even though it says otherwise (and we were told) , meanwhile the woman at the desk was extremely rude and refused to accept any blameManager said “it’s not their problem”Insane

Yesterday (12/15/21) at 9:00am, my daughter in law stopped by to pick up a car I'd made a reservation for. As she did not have a credit card in her name, she could not take the car. Budget would not accept a debit card (in her name). The lady at the front desk was extremely rude, and made it clear she did not want to answer any questions. Definitely, she needs more training or to find another job where she doesn't have to interact with people. I'd give this place no star, if it were an option.

First I would like to thank Terry ( I hope I spelled Correctly) at 1 Bennett Street Cambridge MA. She was amazing, when I made a reservation online without realizing I picked a wrong date, and she fixed this problem on the spot, she went beyond and above and found me a car and turned my day around. Also picking the car and returning was so effortless and quick. Thank you
