“5 stars for the staff here. They give you tips, help with traffic, pull your pin so you can slide tandems, watch your blindside and give you best directions on getting out. Thanks to advice and directions from prior reviews (Truckin Cat and Gavin Klein), getting there wasn’t too crazy. A driver on site at State St told me to turn left from State and “follow the tire tracks” across the empty lot as close to the stop sign as possible. You’ll see what he means. We can’t park in the lot-it’s not owned by Cambridge Brands. State St is the only “staging” area and it only has room for 1 maybe 2 trucks. Don’t block the small dock on State or the box truck drivers start looking angry. 🙂 It is a challenging back up situation from a busy road. A prior review mentioned the guy in the robe across the street eyeballing backing trucks “with disdain.” 😂 I think the same guy came outside, thankfully fully dressed this time and proceeded to fiddle with his windshield wipers as I was backing in. He parked right across from the dock to make this experience extra special for truck drivers.😆 He also wildly gestured for me to shut my headlights off. I survived without hitting anything so I consider it a successful adventure. But yikes!”

“Have been going here since they opened and have absolutely loved it! They do an amazing job of mixing up the selections and are always on theme for the month or holiday season. “Perfect place to get a gift. I paid $65 for a pound of truffles and a bouquet of chocolate roses, which is less than I expected to, and they wrapped them up nice with tissue paper and ribbons. Staff were very friendly”

“I wanted to send McCrea's Advent calendar filled with candies to my daughter. It was recommended in the New York Times in October, and I was afraid they might run out, but it was way too early to send the calendar. I contacted the company, and a wonderful, kind sales rep replied promptly and said I could pay for it then, and she would hold the calendar until right before Advent started. She was true to her word, and my daughter loves the candies!
Then I noticed that my credit card showed a higher amount than the invoice I had received. I contacted the woman again, and she passed me on to the shipping manager. She also replied quickly and said it was a shipping charge, but she refunded it. She said that the company had changed the threshold at some point in the season to offer free shipping for Advents. HadI ordered later in the season there would have been no shipping charge, and she thought I shouldn’t be punished for ordering early!

“I told my wife and kids that I would take them somewhere special but I didn't reveal where until that day. When I finally told them where we were going, a candy factory, they looked at me like "???" wait what. I told them I know a few people ? LOL..
The last time I saw Sean at the barbershop, I asked him if I could stop by his family business and show my kids. He said absolutely bring them on by. Well let me tell you, we went to the most amazing place, Brian Smillie Candy. We are friends so we were able to get a guided tour by Sean the son of Brian, owner of the factory. Just want to throw that out there so you are not expecting a tour as well ?
Recently opened to the public so if you have to make a candy bar for party or something this is the place you want to go! All products sold by the pound, minimum of 5lbs. This place has candy I haven't seen since I was a kid. Things like Cow Tales, Lemonheads, Laffy Taffy's, FunDip's and gumballs like the ones I used to get out of a machine. This is just to name a few but they have options for days. They have these gummy lobsters, cows and pigs that they are well known for. This is a must get. They are perfect in my opinion, not too hard or too chewy and sweetness was just right.
We really enjoyed walking around and looking at everything and learning all the history about the place and products, Brian was very informative and patient with all 4 of us. Definitely repeat business for me. And I will let all my friends, family and clients know where to go to get wholesale candy products.
And finally, thanks again to Brian and his family. We appreciate the time you spent with us!

“If you are looking for any type of nut or candy, here you are to find what you're looking for. It's not the same as when it was on West Broadway in South Boston with the display cases and penny candy display. All the selections are there. I was looking for Brazil nuts. the salesman went in the back and the employee fired up the oven and roasted the nut right then and there. While waiting, I selected some Plantain chips, dark chocolate chips, pistachios, and a half pound of non-perells. A great place to go when you're looking for the right ingredients.”

“I don’t currently have any pictures to show but I LOVE this place! I got my hands on some really good spreads from here, like a Chocolate Hazelnut spread (with Hazelnut as the first ingredient !!!) and a Matcha Milk Jam — they go so well with crepes. I’m coming back here tomorrow since I finished both jars and I can’t find them anywhere else”
