John Paul, Callie, and the entire team are exceptional. They are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions you have, especially when it comes to pairing wines with different foods. I’ve even gone out of my way to try to stump them with tricky pairing scenarios, and they still come back with thoughtful, spot-on, and often surprising recommendations. Their expertise makes exploring new wines fun and approachable, whether you’re planning a dinner party or just picking up something for the weekend.
The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, which makes browsing enjoyable. Despite the shop’s cozy size, the selection is impressive and carefully curated quality over quantity in the best way.

“We had a great night at Lucille’s! It was my first time, and I was nervous as someone who doesn’t love wine. I was so excited when I loved 3 out of 4 of the tasting wines! We got the premium cheese boards and enjoyed the variety of different cheeses and meat. Best of all, the staff was amazing and friendly and went out of their way to help you, ask if you want pictures, need more wine / snacks, etc. I’m looking forward to another trip !”
“Huge fan of the tuna sammy. Comes on a healthy cut of bread and the shredded lettuce is so good. I always swap out the provolone for another cheese and also ask for less mayo, but overall it is really good. It's pricey but #Boston and every single sammy in this town is now at least $15 minimum. My husband really loves their Italian as well.
Great addition to the hood and the owners are friendly. Parking is a little tricky but if you are going to take literally 10-15 mins the Target Parking Lot has never failed me.”

If you're going to spend >$12 on a bottle of wine, at least get it from here where the crew literally knows the back story of every bottle on their racks. But never pretentious. “Theyve got everything you need including premium cigars packed from the manufacturers in plastic humidor travel bags that I just realized in the last month after a couple yrs., the best prices in town, & the best price Ive found anywhere on what was already my favorite cigar--Perdomo Champagne. The storefront is tight but the selection is impeccable, they own the whole bldg. & I'd say theyve got about 8x the storage space, & the whole staff is gr8. Id drive elsewhere if I thought another store were better, & if I move outta the neighborhood I'll still patronize this shop.”

“We stumbled upon this wonderful place as we were visiting Boston, the people in this place are welcoming. One of the people said to check out their cellar and OMG, we felt like kids in a candy store?. The first bottle we bought was a chablis premiere cru and it was sooooo delicious (after refrigerating it for 6 hours and have it out for 20 mins)! We went there again to buy 3 more bottles of red wines 2 days after. If you like wine, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STOPPING AT THIS PLACE. The entire time we were there, I can say this is my favorite place in Boston. Will update this review of how the other bottles are.
P.S. they did say that every Friday, they host FREE wine tasting.
Update 1: As I told Jill (shoutout to her, she gave us awesome recommendations), Ill say what I think about the wines we bought. We tried the Vacqueyras she likes, and yessss ?, this is delicious! It was rich in taste, and has that peppery, earthy and fruity taste to it.”
“Gary's Deli inside the liquor store has so many options for lunch. From Shepherd and chicken pot pie to taco Tuesdays there are so many options that you can have something different every day. The team behind the deli counter is awesome and very efficient. You're in and out in no time. I highly recommend that you stop by for lunch a couple times a week, like I do.”

Art and Drew are so sweet and knowledgeable, and always greet me and ask how my day is going when I pop in for fancy ingredients or treats. Drew once gave me some lifesaving advice about how to make a last minute bread pudding with fresh bread instead of stale! Cannot recommend enough, great place with high quality goods, sensible prices, and awesome staff. Also the half-off table is a treasure trove.”
“Very good selection of beers, avoiding a trip to larger stores. They have difficult to find beers, and the prices are affordable. Staff is knowledgeable and able to point in the right direction. They're particularly good with IPAs , and have a decent selection of non alcoholic options. Unfortunately they don't carry a lot of stouts/porters but apart from that i always find something new and interesting. I can't speak for the liquor and wine selection, but the store is large.”

“Since I am in self-imposed lockdown due to covid, your delivery service has been wonderful! Your delivery usually arrives on the same day as ordered and has always been accurate. If there is one slight inaccuracy, it is that the size of the gin bottles on display does not state COSTS!. True, I find that out when I get to "buy." But then I might have to reorder. Also, person to person contact with staff members is always polite and professional!”

“I like this mom and pop shop. Great selection of local craft beer and nearly everything you need in a convenient location if you're in Charlestown or East Cambridge. Prices are a little steep but I don't mind supporting a mom and pop. Friendly service and helpful people. Highly recommend!”
