“This is a family-run sporting goods store that has been around since 1867. I go there to get my tennis racquet re-strung because they are very reasonably priced, they have fast turnaround times, and I enjoy my conversations with them, especially Mike. They are all genuinely friendly. They all made a point of knowing me by name the very first time I entered the store. Bill, the man who often strings my racquets, has been there since 1967. They are very proud of their store and their reputation means a great deal to them. They are always happy to help with recommendations and it is very clear that they care more about making sure their customers are satisfied than making a quick buck. This is the kind of mom and pop store that, all roo too often, unfortunately, has become a relic of the past.”

I brought my two teen runners in to get shoes for track and we had the absolute best experience and were educated so well through the whole process. From measuring not only one foot but both but also watching them walk to see what shoes would be best. I could go on! I came home knowing that I'll never go anywhere else for running shoes again! The kids were both so happy too.
Bonus points too was that they offered a 10% student discount and right now all of their cold/winter gear was on sale too.”

“What a great surprise and what fun! I accompanied a friend to the store who has been visiting since he was a child. I had never heard of the place but went along to keep him company and wow, am I glad I did! The long wall of jeans was worth the trip itself. Every size,shape, description, all on a neatly folded highly manageable wall. The store is full, and I mean, full, of great outdoor clothing of all sizes of shapes and descriptions, including in the women’s section. The staff was friendly, courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The shoe section included every kind of outdoor footwear needed. This place was literally a throwback to my childhood as the floors creaked and groaned a bit underfoot. I’m a grandfather and can’t wait to bring my grandkids to see what it was like shopping before the big box takeover!

He was so knowledgeable and patient, such a great listener, and made feel super comfortable with the process. “Exceptional service in buying my son's skis. We felt no sales pressure but once we were ready to discuss options they were great in explaining the different skis and what would work best for his type of skiing. They also called other stores looking for ski poles. We were surprised that they told us to wait so we could walk out with our skis fully binded and ready to hit the mountain. “Customer service is wonderful. It's smart to call before you go, they will ask details about your swimmer and can give you an idea of size/style/price before you shop. They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about sizes and styles and what would work best for your swimmer. The owner also encouraged me to buy the cheaper suit; she is not just trying to sell the most expensive product. I highly recommend this shop.”

“Not only is this a one stop shop for all things soccer, on two occasions, I ordered custom printed sweatshirts and they were ready in less than 24 hours. I ordered a last minute birthday gift on a Friday night and the owner told me they would be ready Monday. Then he emailed back and said I can have them done for you tomorrow, saving the birthday! Additionally, we used them to get coaches gifts for the team coaches and the quality of the sweatshirts and tshirts is top notch, meaning they will survive multiple washes!
Why support Dick’s when you have small businesses owners, like Cliff, going above and beyond every time! Their pricing is great, and the staff is always super helpful. Do yourself a favor and make this your go to for all things soccer!”

“Wow, we had been having a swimsuit crisis (this happens every year with my daughter, who is now 11 years old but has gone through puberty a bit earlier and is **VERY** sensitive about her body) where nothing works, and a woman on staff (maybe manager?) swept in and SAVED the day! She knew JUST what to say to sell my daughter on finally trying (another) swimsuit (we had to order it from home, full coverage high waisted swim bottoms, but it's on the way!). I am seriously so thankful to this staffer! She was like our swimsuit fairy godmother.”

This shop is a bit of a hidden gem located right near Trader Joes in Acton and is a great shop that is dedicated to hockey, lacrosse, field hockey and also carries embroidery gear for several local towns. “I can't say enough about Lids in the Burlington Mall. My son purchased a hat with his Uncle's initials that had recently passed away. He did not notice the middle initial was incorrect when he brought it home and the manager Alicia was very understanding and stated right away on the phone to bring it in and she will give him a new hat! The customer service is amazing. This is his 5th hat from this store!”
“The new performance center is unbelievable. Probably the best Customer Service I’ve ever experienced in a golf store. Tom C along with all of the fitters and associates were 10/10. The manager Thomas went above and beyond helping me replace my stolen golf bag and all of my clubs for a last-minute trip. They re-gripped all my clubs right away, fully alleviated the stress off trying to get a full set of clubs within a couple of hours.”
