“This place has the most genuine, trustworthy guys. Went to Meineke in Gloucester and they told me I had a problem with my front ball joint and "it was an emergency as the tire would collapse into the car when I was driving" and tried to charge me $259 for them to fix it. I then took my car to J & B for a second opinion, and they confirmed there was NOTHING wrong with the ball joints and my car was perfectly safe to drive. Can't thank these guys enough for saving me $250 and for not trying to take advantage of me not having any knowledge about cars. Will definitely be taking my car only to this shop from now on!!”

“When I was young and just getting into the car world, my grandfather looked me in the eye and said Sam, if you want your car fixed right, go see Warren Whitehead! He's the best in town. Well I have been going to Whiteheads since I was a teen and I'm 54 now, I saw Jim when he worked with his dad and watched him grow into an excellent mechanic just like his father. I saw Warren hand his business down to his son and my trust never wavered because before Warren handed it down to Jim, Jim was already doing great work on my car. And his mechanic Steve, what can I say about Steve? I had an old Dodge Caravan that made knocking noises when stepping on the gas or slowing down and on bumpy roads. I brought it to a mechanic I was using for awhile because he was inexpensive due to the fact he worked out of his garage at his home and had little overhead. He told me it was my struts and $380 later which was actually a great price for getting two struts down, and I drove it away and it still made the same noise. I said that's it I'm going back to Whitehead, I'd rather pay more and get it fixed the first time. So I brought it to Whitehead and Steve was the one I explained things to do he worked on my car. He calls me up in a couple of hours and says your all set. I said really? He said yeah noise is gone. I cringed and said what's the damage? He said $66. I ssid your kidding what was the problem? He says you had a broken motor mount and I was able to weld it back together. So if you want honesty and Quality work, Take it to Whitehead!”

Being new to town and having a VW which is expensive and difficult to fix, I struggled to find a good, reliable, and honest mechanic. The search ended with Joe at top gear auto. Not only did I get honest and great work, but more than a few times he helped me out in a pinch, even when very busy, showing true appreciation for my business. I have dealt with all types of people and can tell when someone is not on the up and up. Joe is an honest to goodness, upstanding business owner who takes care of his customers old school style… highly recommend for all types of vehicles, including foreign cars. “The first time I went there I was in a little bit of a crisis and Norm made me feel at ease he treated me like family and I've been going there ever since and he's very thorough he doesn't just treat you as a number he doesn't want to get you in and out he wants to make sure that you're satisfied and that when you leave his lot that your car is 100% And he wants to know that you're safe and that is what you call a great man/ mechanic my father always told me you treat people with respect especially the people that are taken care of your family and are taking care of you and your children and that are taking care of your car that's the three most important things in your life your family yourself and your car! After a month of trying to determine what I was going to do with my truck that had a hydraulic lifter issue with bent rod I brought it to Sean and his team. “If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place is fantastic. No BS and straight to the point. Blake my salesman and Frank the manager are two great guys. They both go out of their way to make you feel at ease during the entire purchase process. Blake knew everything about the truck that I was interested in. After I made my purchase he also went over all the features on the truck with me (and there was alot). The both of them then expedited the registration and inspection process so that I could drive away with my new to me truck within 2 days of the purchase. They are patient and they really know what they are talking about. I am a grad student hoping to get a couple more years out of my car, and I feel that they treat me and my car with the same respect they would give to anyone. Extremely honest and affordable, multiple times I've picked my car up and the bill was $0 because the fix was something simple like removing corrosion from a switch and there was no part required.
