Hammond Castle Museum is a dynamic STEAM museum and historic landmark. Built between 1926 and 1929, the museum blends medieval, Gothic, and French village architecture, and was the home and laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr., a prolific American inventor known as the "Father of Radio Control." Today, the museum offers a vibrant experience, blending its historical significance as a historic house museum and a lapidarium. Visitors can discover ancient, medieval, and Renaissance architectural elements and artifacts, including an extraordinary collection of stone and marble works, as well as fresh educational programming, exhibits, and events. While the museum features stunning ocean views and beautiful gardens, some visitors note accessibility challenges due to narrow stairs and entrances. Overall, Hammond Castle Museum is a unique and worthwhile destination, offering a glimpse into the past and a dynamic STEAM-focused experience.
Great place to stop and spend a few hours. Worth every minute. Only thing I would say is if you have mobility issues there are lots of stairs
