“When ever we are in Worcester, we make a point to stop in.
Excellent food in there.
We particularly love their marinated sirloin steak tip... perfect for the grill.
Nit to mention their Excellent wine selection.”
“Surely not a store you buy your daily groceries, more if you're looking for premium products of extraordinary quality you don't find elsewhere for special occasions.”
“i wish every grocery store ran this well.
the market basket experience is unparalleled in large part to their commitment to valuing their employees.
stores are stocked, check-outs are quick, every counter has at least one person helping customers at all times, all because of a well-trained and supported staff.
on top of all this, prices are some of the lowest i see around here.
market basket is almost always busy, though early mornings and late nights are less packed. if you're used to understaffed ghost-stores, market basket is not that!”
“Delicious house made kielbasa! The sauerkraut pierogis were great too. Haven’t been to a polish grocery store in a few years. After seeing the billboard off 290, checking reviews, and craving a polish meal we tried this place and it topped expectations! Can’t wait to return and try their homemade pierogis!”
“Gala Foods Supermarket in Worcester is one of those rare places that restores your faith in what a grocery store — and a community — can be. Every visit feels refreshing, abundant, and full of warmth. The energy here is bright yet gentle: colorful aisles, inviting lighting, and signage that feels caring rather than loud. Everything looks fresh, tastes vibrant, and is priced so fairly that you can shop with both joy and peace of mind.
My favorite part of Gala Foods has always been the deli — truly one of the best in all of Worcester (and I say that as a former deli worker!). Their sandwiches are made with love and precision, bursting with flavor and generosity.
I especially want to recognize Alfred, one of the deli staff members, who consistently went above and beyond. His kindness, humor, and genuine attentiveness turned an ordinary lunch stop into something special. He treated us not just like customers, but like guests, and you could tell he takes pride in making food that touches people’s hearts.
What stands out most about Gala Foods is the culture of care that shines through every person there. The whole team radiates friendliness and sincerity — it’s clear that leadership has created an environment where people love what they do and love who they work with. That kind of joy can’t be faked; it’s felt in every smile and every fresh, delicious bite.
The selection of Latin American foods is also outstanding — diverse, authentic, and beautifully presented. You can feel the pride and cultural richness that Gala Foods brings to the community.
Every time I left Gala Foods, I felt nourished not only in body but in spirit. I’m so grateful this place exists — it’s a true gem in Worcester and a reflection of everything good about food, people, and community.
If I could give more stars, I would.”
“They have a large variety of items. The bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin was really good however the top English muffin was very small for some reason. The owners are very friendly and nice.”
“The selection of options is generally very good. The price is not very competitive vs. marketbasket, particularly with commodities like meat, produce, and cheese.”
“I have been going here every weekend for about a year. The staff is great, affordable eggs, great meats and chicken. Now they let me in before they are even officially open. This place is gold.”

“Since they have gone to bagging the veggies (3 peppers per bag), etc, I'm not as happy. Veggies/ fruits don't seem as fresh as before and it is so much nicer to pick the veggie/fruit you want. What about all the extra plastic that is producing and wasting on the environment??”

“Hi to all at Hannaford; we've been shopping at this market since moving to Uxbridge a few years ago. Although it is costly, we don't shop there often; we prefer Market Basket, which is further away. The store has been remodeled since our first visit, and the staff is different as well; high school kids moving on, or I am wrong as always. My interest now is in flowers as a means of conversation, not necessarily about the flowers themselves, but to learn something about them. I am not a gardener, nor do I want to be one. All the best in the New Year!”
“Hands down the best sheet cake around! It might have been a little more expensive, but it was totally worth it. The marble cake with Italian cream frosting was Beautifully decorated, and delicious.”
“THEY HAVE KNORR?
THEY HAVE KNORR.
THEY HAVE KNORR!
USE THE CORRECT SEASONING OR DON'T. ITS YOUR CHOICE.

“I got a BJ's membership JUST for the gas prices! Of course, the membership & the store are a great bonus, but the premium gas prices are unmatched! I've already saved enough on my fill-ups in the first month to pay for the yearly membership cost.”

“The place is spotlessly clean and everything is delicious, especially the meat section, which is very clean. However, the downside is:There are no staff to help customers find products; there are only employees in the accounting department. However, it's a moderately priced and nice place; I recommend it.”
“This was my first time ever shopping at a Whole Foods Market & I loved it, I came in search of a drink that I had gotten elsewhere and while searching online found out that they carried the brand, although they didn't have the flavor I was looking for they had other great options, and I picked up some of their hot foods which they have a huge selection of that you pay by the pound, I forgot the name of the chick I got but it was boneless with a sweet spicy sauce I believe it was something Hawaiian a cold dish but it was sooooo flavorful my partner tried the jerk chicken and loved it I did as well, the only complaint would be that things are a bit pricier compared to other stores but you get healthier clean options, I did see that you can get a discount if you link your Amazon account which is nice, I would definitely return for select items but wish they had more deals and were more affordable for everyone to be able to get the good food options they offer.”
“You can get a lot of the products here for way less at Walmart so the deli and quality meat selection is probably the big reason to come here. Walmart chicken breast looks like someone tore them off the bird by hand. Also lots of hot meal options.”
“This is my go to halal spot! The Fried Chicken was great! It's halal meat that's fresh. I love eating here it's one of my favorite halal food spots in Worcester.”
“Without any doubt it is the best place for Indian grocery in USA however they can improve a lot in stocks since most of the times at least few items are out of stocks we travel 50 miles and miss few items”

“Very convenient easy access and parking good prices and fantastic fillets at the meat counter although the staff at the meat counter lack any personable social skills.
The clerk at the seafood counter actually licked his fingers first to pull the latex gloves out of the box before getting my salmon.
I put that one back.
Other than that, everyone else is quite nice.”
“They had more vegan options than I thought they would, and several that I hadn't seen elsewhere. We recently moved to the area so despite it being more expensive than Market Basket, this will be our new regular grocery store. (The nearby Price Chopper may do in a pinch, but just isnt as nice inside.)”
“I just got 3 mangonadas and I love it so much!!! It’s mouthwatering and I want more and more and more. The man that prepared it for me is super friendly and very kind I will tell everyone I know and it’s definitely a healthy treat. Definitely a date idea.”
“Al Basrah Halal Market is one of those small, cozy shops that quietly becomes part of your routine before you even realize it.
It's not huge, and the selection isn't endless—but everything it does have is thoughtful. I would stop in every few days for little things: drinks, sweets, chocolates, sometimes fruit, sometimes something new I hadn't seen before. They carry a mix of halal and imported goods—baklava, candies, dried and canned items, teas, and a fridge/freezer section with drinks and frozen foods. Everything feels clean, organized, and well cared for, and the prices are genuinely excellent—much better than what you find in typical supermarkets.
What really kept me coming back, though, wasn't just the products—it was the feeling of the place. The store is calm and welcoming, never crowded, with a quiet energy that makes it easy to browse and take your time. And the staff are genuinely kind—warm, friendly, and attentive without ever being intrusive. There's a natural hospitality here that makes you feel comfortable and seen, and it left me curious about their stories and the culture they bring to this little corner of Worcester.
This store feels like a small cultural anchor in the neighborhood. It's steady, sweet, and meaningful in a way that's easy to overlook. During my time in Worcester, it became more than a convenience stop—it became part of my rhythm, a little place of comfort I looked forward to visiting.
I'm truly grateful this place exists. I'd recommend stopping in—not just for the drinks and sweets, but to experience a small, human corner of Worcester that brings warmth, care, and a sense of community.”
“I adore the no name store! Muhammad, Shanto, and Jose are the best. So kind and even though the store is small it's always clean. Can't recommend it enough- this is the first review I've ever written!”
“I have been to stores that sell Vietnamese products, but there is a general situation that fresh seafood is very unhygienic because it is not stored in a glass cabinet, the store has a very smelly smell. When I go to buy food, I feel that the store is not hygienic. It is recommended that the manager should put fresh seafood for sale in a glass cabinet to ensure hygiene, especially seafood products. The 3rd time I came here on a Sunday and found the store smells too bad, the rice place is very dirty and unhygienic.”
“Went in asked a quick question got a polite answer and a suggestion for my solution hope whoever was working tonight has a great night n y'all have a beautiful store thank you for the help once again”
“Huge parking lot. Found everything that i needed but there were a few places in the veggie section that needed restocking. There is also a gas station on the premises.”
“I had the best experience at this shaws location, there is a young man here, his name is Daniel, he works in produce, he was restocking the premade fruit cups and he was so friendly. The fruit looked fabulous and very fresh, Daniel told me that he personally is responsible for cutting the fruit and placing it on the shelves, he does a beautiful job here and always greets customers with a smile!”

“This very nice store is just off Rt 12 and I-190. The store was clean and very well stocked. Inspite of there being a decent number of cars in the lot the store didn't look crowded. The pharmacist went above and beyond checking if they carried the health drink I was looking for but also if she could order it as they didn't have it. This store is better , more clearly, marked than my normal store on prices and sales.”
“If you like beer this place has a really good selection for its small floor size. I don't know about their liquor or wine stock, but they have many local/craft beers in addition to the big name imported and American companies. Lots of New England IPAs and some cool sours. I've even seen some of the rare Yeungling varieties that other liquor stores never have.”
“I come here a couple times a week and I want to say thank you to all the employees and customers that treat me with respect and give my best friend DEX so much love and attention!”
