“We waited until a perfect weather day which Labor Day was and live about 1 1/2 hrs away south of Boston. A great experience based on our itinerary. We are Trustee members at sustaining level, $180/yr which makes a big difference in cost (and as an aside provides the reciprocal NARM network of affiliated museums as a member). As such, parking was free. We did the great house 1 hour tour (Guest of the Cranes) which was very interesting with access to all the resident and guest quarters on the 2nd floor. Our guide was well informed and everyone is handed a card at the beginning with information on who they represent and some interesting facts. You can ham it up a bit or just announce your name. Fun with no pressure either way. We also took the 1 hours grounds tour in a 6 person golf type of cart with another well informed guide. You could never walk all of the property in one visit to see everything that is included with all the best views and photo ops. This an especially essential tour for anyone who has trouble getting around and is only able to see the ground floor of the mansion. I hope they continue this tour for the benefit of those who would not otherwise be able to enjoy the estate. We arrived around 12:30pm, tours at 1pm and 2:30pm and left about 4PM. You could easily spend additional time walking around. The Trustees of Reservations have several properties and NARM has dozens more throughout New England and all over the country so well worth a membership which saved us $15 pp for each tour x 2 + $20 parking = $80 saved total for the day. Member cost was $60 for the day vs just stopping by at $140. If your schedule is flexible, highly recommend waiting for nice weather.”

Our coordinator, Jeannine, was fantastic. She was warm, professional, and made sure everything went off without a hitch. She took such great care of us and our guests, made sure everyone was comfortable, did a beautiful job with our decor, and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. She even kindly sent us home with cookies at the end of the night, which was such a thoughtful touch. We’re so grateful for everything Jeannine and the Willowdale team did to make our wedding feel so special.”

“We stayed at Briar Barn last night and were absolutely blown away by the level of service! We had a very long travel day flying across the country and when we finally arrived Paula gave us the warmest, kindest, most gracious (and helpful!) welcome. We stayed in the Deluxe King Suite with our baby and found the room to be not only beautifully decorated but also spotlessly clean. Oh, and did I mention the comfortable bed and plentiful hot water? The continental breakfast was also a very nice touch. Honestly this place is a hidden gem and I cannot recommend it highly enough!”

“We just had our wedding here and couldn't be happier. The venue is beautiful, and the garden was stunning for a fall wedding. They were replacing flowers outside the morning of just to make sure everything looked great! The food is incredible, the staff is so easy to work with and was responsive to all of our questions, and the main reception space was so easy to pivot from a nice sit-down dinner to a lively dance floor! Couldn't recommend more.”

There are a couple of small lots off Federal and Chapman streets that I usually find a spot in, but get there early as there are also a number of good restaurants in the immediate area so parking is tight.”

“We just enjoyed our wedding day at Tupper Manor! From the minute we toured the venue, my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to celebrate our big day! The venue's decor with stained glass windows, windows overlooking the ocean, and beautiful fireplaces was exactly what we were looking for. It was such a pleasure working with David and Colby throughout the planning process and on the day of. They were responsive and coordinated. There were so many little details from the day that they coordinated that made my husband and I feel special. On the day of the wedding, the bridal suite on the second floor was amazing. I was able to spend the morning with my bridal party enjoying breakfast, lunch, and hair and makeup with them without ever having to leave the venue. All of the staff throughout the day was amazing. From the servers for cocktail hour and dinner, to the staff working the ice cream bar, and the bartenders, everyone was professional, kind, and very conscientious of Joe and I. If you are looking for a magical venue that offers beautiful settings for indoor and outdoor ceremonies plus a chance to get photos on the ocean, look no further than Tupper Manor!”

“We hosted our wedding at Steeple Hall and the venue and staff exceeded expectations. We looked at so many venues and before we found Steeple Hall and Nik, we were ready to give up. Nik was very accommodating to all of our requested without upcharging us for every single ask, which was so important to us. On the day of the event, we were able to drop off boxes and boxes of decor and did not have to worry about a thing - the Steeple Hall team was able to set everything up to our specifications, they allowed out vendors to deliver items and set up hours prior to the start time. The venue was well staffed with our amazing coordinator Nik, his associate, Cathie, and the bartender, Kristin. They ensured that our event went off without a hitch and there was an open line of communication to ask any questions, as well as subtly connecting with us throughout the night to ensure we were happy. Following the event, the team packed up our belonging for us and we were able to pick them up the next morning. We enjoyed dinner and dessert, and heard from multiple guests that it was delicious. We would absolutely recommend Steeple Hall to other couples looking to host a reception, or any family looking to host a party.”

“We stayed here for our trip to Boston/Salem/MV/Gloucester. The room was small but it was clean and the hotel was quiet. AC/heater was loud. If you are not planning to be in the room very much and are looking for a room with the basics, it was fine. It is not upscale nor is it low level. Staff could have been more friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Great proximity to the areas mentioned above. Nice photo op near the fountain. Nearby activities: Quick drive to Salem, Boston, Gloucester and about 1& 1/2 hrs. to New Bedford for the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.”
