“I was given my mom’s engagement ring and wanted to give it to my daughter for her engagement. They took it to a different jeweler who told them there was a crack in the diamond and that it would be easily broken or damaged and proceeded to sell them another ring. I then took the ring to Smith & Son Jewelers and Tom took a look at the ring and told me that was not the case at all. He resized the ring and I am so thrilled to be wearing my mom’s beautiful ring. I wanted to continue wearing my original engagement ring that had small diamonds on either side of a large diamond. Tom removed the main diamond and prong and filled in the space with new diamonds. The ring is beautiful and you would never know that the big diamond and prong had been removed. I wear the rings stacked now, my wedding band, my mom’s ring & my engagement ring. Lastly, I wanted to use the diamond from my original engagement ring in a necklace so Tom helped me to design an incredible gold necklace with the diamond nestled between 6 pearls graduated in size from largest to smallest on each side of the diamond. The necklace is absolutely stunning and I will treasure it and the rings always. I most likely would not have attempted this had it not been for Tom’s knowledge, skill and experience. He is a such a genuinely kind person and a real gem ;)

“My family have been long time customers of Stephen Allen and so naturally, I knew my engagement ring would come from here one day. I just got engaged and my ring has such a beautiful story behind it. I started working with Colleen MONTHS ago to try and design the perfect ring. I knew I wanted custom and not just one in-store, so I got to working with her and we got to designing, which was such a FUN process.
At first, I had one vision, which she had carefully designed up for me, and after a couple of months, I changed my vision entirely, so we redesigned. And then we edited a few times from there! With each revision, Colleen was just SO patient, so helpful in listening to my thoughts and taking recommendations and making adjustments so that it fit my vision. Once we settled on a design, she had a mold made before production to make sure it was exactly what we wanted! We did use some family stones that mean so much to me and Colleen was so communicative along the way letting me know that the stones had arrived safely to the jewelry designer/maker who was making my ring! Now, i have my absolute dream ring and it’s 1 of 1 in the entire world!

“I was looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend and I went to 5 different jewelry stores. I was referred to Alexanders from a friend and met Gene at his shop. After describing what I was looking for he was able to show me some diamonds which he thought would meet my expectations. After describing the stones which he showed me I was stunned that based upon my discussions with the other jewelry stores what he was offering me was almost twice the size with same cut and clarity for about three quarters the price. He explained that since he kept his costs to a minimum and he bought his diamonds direct from diamond cutters he made a reasonable profit but did not mark them up 500% like the larger jewelers. I bought the ring complete for $4200 and took it for an insurance appraisal and it came out at $13,800. Gene made a nice setting which my girlfriend loved. Amazing I will only buy my jewelry from Gene in the future.”
