Pet Care

Animal Hospital of Orleans
65 Finlay Rd, OrleansI can’t say enough good things about Animal Hospital of Orleans! I took my very anxious dog there today for a yearly physical with vaccines and blood draw for the first time and we both had such an amazing experience! We saw Dr. Ashley Stancil who was just so phenomenal!! She and our vet tech (who I feel awful for not catching her name) were so patient and loving towards my dog and made her feel as comfortable as possible. I definitely recommend Animal Hospital of Orleans for any pet needs!

Lake Farm Boarding Kennels
53 Finlay Rd, OrleansI cannot say enough good things about the care and attention our dog Bentley received from Lake Farm. We have boarded her in many places and have never seen her as happy and calm as when she stayed here. The staff is exceptional and loving and attentive. I recommend them with full faith and confidence.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Ice Cream Cafe
5 S Orleans Rd, OrleansJust a small place to stop for a cone, blizzard, or sundae. There's no indoor seating, but there's a small patio to sit outdoors. But don't let the small size fool you... The tasty treats they offer are delicious!!!

The Barley Neck
5 Beach Rd, OrleansI sat alone at the bar. I really enjoyed the nice conversation with the bartender and the local patrons. I ordered one of the mocktails called Virgin Islands and that was damn good. I had raw oysters which were not that good. I was expecting better flavor. They were presented well and shucked cleanly but the taste was not for me. I had the butterscotch dessert. The first few bites were fantastic, but it started to feel kinda heavy and flavorless after a while. It might be good to share or maybe have with a cup of espresso but by itself it didn't keep my attention. The place was really busy on a Thursday night in mid October. I got the last parking spot. I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes for a spot at the bar. Friendly staff and good vibes. I'd go back for the mocktails and conversation for sure.

Hog Island Beer Co.
28 West Rd, OrleansWhat a great find! Nice, open and spacious outdoor area, which worked great with a toddler. Between my son-in-law searching for a great Pilsner to steamed clams in a flavorful broth with sausage, tomatoes and onions. Two of us ordered the poke bowl with tuna, which was very fresh tasting. The service was great and all staff were very friendly.
