“All Trader Joes are superb. Framingham Trader Joes has a liquor license and sells wine. Hint, if you discover a great wine that suddenly appears, buy all they have to stock your cellar. Often these are one time buys only. Keep an eye out for those. Same for olive oil. Although rare, their occasional California olive oils are the real thing, fresh, and just outstanding (picture attached)! The last one I found was as good as anything inside of Italy. Just give them the olive oil test on the back of your throat. (Hint: Italian "export" olive oil is not olive oil)”

“There is so much to offer here. The reason for this visit was for sandwiches. We ordered, waited for and brought home, then enjoyed. ( No dining in) A generous portion for the price, made how ever you want it done. Produce you don't get from the big stores, a deli counter worth the wait, and the bread and baked goods are fantastic if you have a sweet tooth. Of course there's the usual brand items when you need those too. Plan to stop in with a buddy and split some sandwiches, go halvesies!”

Karen always goes out of her way to make one even if that means going to the back to check for stuffing. “Boars head meats. Italian sandwich 7.00 and 1/2 lb of meat... had nice homemade cooked meatloaf's That smelled delicious while ordering my sandwich... I wish they had a meatloaf sandwich... a lot of home cooked meals, marinated steak tips, chicken , turkey etc...rotisserie chickens, and more... Next time I'll trying a small meatloaf... 7.99 a bargain for a meal for 2 people”

“Ok, so I'm new to MA and in the beginning was a bit taken aback by the unfriendly nature of the staff and the high prices of groceries. Now that I've been here a month I realize that this is essentially the norm in the northeast versus folks from the south. The store is a bit old and dark, the one in Wellesley is much nicer, bigger, and has more selections. I have gotten used to no smiles from staff and overpriced produce. Prices are similar to Whole Foods. For the best deals, try Trader Joe's in Framingham.”

“I agree with a previous reviewer that this place is dated with charm. The proprietor is a lovely man who makes your sandwich with glee and a song. While the store's atmosphere is aging and in need of a little pick me up , it's nice that they make fresh pasta and have a selection of other Italian corner store goods for purchase. I got a deli meats sandwich (not an Italian). The meat was cut in front of me on a slicer and fresh , but I found the sandwich a bit salty, even for deli meat (maybe the bread or the meat ?) . Great service and a nice local business , even if the food I sampled wasn't at the top. I'd bet the pasta and the eggplant parm are great here. Maybe next time”

“I have passed Donelan's for years and have never been in, but I was heading home around 2:30 after doing errands and I was really hungry. While I really wanted - and needed - something that was "real lunch food" (i.e. something filling, like a sandwich) I wandered around and didn't feel like fruit. I saw a couple of pre-made sandwiches in the deli area, but nothing appealed to me and I was drawn back to the bakery area. You know those nice and big slices of cake that grocery stores have that sometimes have a lot of frosting? They have them, and it had A LOT of frosting and that's when I knew a day of healthy eating would be pushed to another day. Found a nice big slice of white cake and that frosting looked soooo good. I looked around for a fork because I wanted to dive into it in the parking lot, but that needed to wait until I got home. One minute through the self-checkout lane and I was off, and hurried home to get my sugar rush. It was delicious, and there was so much frosting that I didn't eat all of it (probably a first for me). After wandering the aisles, the prices seemed the same to me as those that I normally pay in Newton at Star Market, so I may need to pick up some actual food the next time I am driving by! Store was VERY clean, definitely a bonus!”

“I have been coming here since my parents would let me ride my bike out of the neighborhood (we're talking 20+years now) They have always been super friendly, and have what I needed, even when I was a kid making silly candy requests they would accommodate, and now that I'm older and they have beer and wine, the same rings true. No matter how bad the weather is, or if it's a holiday, I can't think of a time I've needed to stop by and snag something and they haven't been open even when other spots aren't. “I was going to deli next door where sandwiches are steep prices when I saw a sign 8.99 sandwiches. Pick our roll, protein, condiments. I order a ham, Swiss cheese on French bread , lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard and bacon . Then written was 9.99 on wrapper. I told guy at register I had the make your sandwich for 8.99. He told me that was starting price. I said sign says 8.99 back and forth.... I then figured maybe bacon added was the buck extra ? Then I look at sign and says nothing about bacon... says lettuce tomatoes a 1.50 extra? Or is that for the roast vegetables? Very confusing? Then if charging for lettuce and tomato and onion adds a 1.50 ... not 1.00? Nothing about bacon on sign. Any way sandwich was excellent fresh French bread, all ingredients fresh.. another slice of ham would have been good or Black Forest ham instead... Tasty with the bacon and good sandwich and I think better than deli next door ... the deli sides in case all looked good... didn't see a side of potato or macaroni salad or coke slaw... seafood salad looked to be tasty in a sandwich. Actually looking closer at fine print I should have been charged 1.50 for the bacon and unclear another 1.50 for lettuce, tomato, onion or 1.50 each... then at that price ... sandwich wouldn't have gotten to cashier as too expensive.”

“We did a holiday party on December 10th and ordered through Roche Brothers catering for a party of 60 people.We are regulars in buying food from Roche Brothers at the Millis or Westwood locations since we moved to Walpole in 2006.We ordered the appetizers from the Millis location: vegetable crudité, cheese and crackers charcuterie, bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp cocktail, asparagus wrapped with beef and Boursin cheese and the desserts were the large trays of finger desserts: eclairs, cheesecakes, etc.Half of our neighborhood in Walpole, are new families and they all wanted to know where the food came from, and we told them Roche Brothers for appetizers and desserts.All the food ordered was gone too, with a party that started at 6pm and went until midnight!Thank you to the catering staff for making our party a hit!Job well done and loved by all!”

“Absolutely amazing, even if you aren't interested in eastern European/Slavic cuisine. Most of the year the produce is excellent, so much better than market basket. Larger, juicier and sweeter. In the winter however things are slightly more mixed so choose carefully. The prices are also excellent, I don't know how or why but everytime I come here the bill is always under 50$, usually under 30$. At market basket it always seems to be pushing 70 or even 100$.So please support this store, it's hard for a business to keep prices low for our benefit, and they will need all the help they can get .”

“Overall a great place to shop. Great variety and they have running deals which make them sometimes cheaper than other stores like Hannaford etc. The staff are nice and kind. Would be great if you are genial and friendly with them and thank staff for their service. The service industry can be quite difficult.Market Kitchen - their cafeteria is their reason for why I keep going back to it time and time again. However depending on the time of the day they can be quite busy like lunch time. Most foods on the grill are freshly prepped. The steak bomb, cheese burger and hot dog are great starts. One recommendation, stay away from their dinners as they aren't freshly prepped and the rice and veggies can feel like reaching their age/drying up for lying around. Additionally avoid evening pickups as the food may not be rotated as regularly.”
