“I've dealt with Akin twice, the 2nd time was an absolute joy! When I brought my car in, I mentioned a couple other concerns I had with the vehicle on top of why it was originally there. Check engine light with the code P0420 (cat code), and my concerns were a misfire under acceleration and my rear passenger brake was sticking/freezing up. I got a call from a gentleman a couple days later, and he was upfront and honest with me about everything, which i personally fully respect! I knew it going to be expensive, but I didn't realize the extent of the damage done to the cat and O2 sensors. He also told me they needed to keep the car longer while waiting for parts, which I was completely fine with. Being told all this ahead of time allowed me to make arrangements to get to work and whatnot. After everything was said and done, my car runs sooo much better!!
I 100% recommend this place! I've worked on my own cars for decades, and only brought my cars to a shop if I didn't have the means to fix something, whether it was lack of knowledge or lack of tools. I have never met such friendly, honest and respectful people in 1 shop. I didn't feel like i was being strung along/taken advantage of. Being a mechanic isn't easy, especially these days, so to find a reputable shop is a breath of fresh air. I will gladly return for any future issues and will recommend friends/family as well”
