“I came to Pleasant Car Care for a second opinion after being quoted for a very involved repair at the Mercedes dealership in Westwood. Someone recommended Pleasant Car Care to me, and I’m so glad they did. The repair I actually needed was much less extensive—and thousands of dollars less—than what Mercedes told me I had to have done.
I don’t know much about cars, so finding a place with integrity that I can genuinely trust is incredibly valuable to me. Watertown isn’t exactly convenient to where I live, but knowing I can bring my car there and work with honest, trustworthy people makes the drive completely worth it.

“When you have an older car and do not know much about cars, going to a car service center can feel a lot like going to the dentist. You know something may be wrong, you know it may affect your safety, but you do not always know what is urgent, what can wait, how much it should cost, or whether you should approve a recommended service.
Because of that, I usually feel very stressed and anxious when I have to take my car in. Express Tire & Auto Service was different. I brought my car in because I was concerned about my brakes and some overall issues while driving. They performed a very thorough inspection and sent me photos and videos of what they found, along with clear explanations and an online estimate where I could review each item and decide what to approve.
That system was incredibly helpful. At many places, I receive information verbally and can only understand part of what is being explained, so I end up feeling pressured to approve things because I am worried about safety. Here, I had enough time and information to make an informed decision. I really appreciated the transparency, professionalism, and kindness of the team.
They were friendly, patient, and reliable from start to finish. I feel very lucky to have found this place, and I feel much more comfortable and confident driving my car now. I would highly recommend Express Tire & Auto Service, especially to anyone with an older car or anyone who wants clear and detailed explanations before making repair decisions. “I cant say enough about the team at the Arlington -Mystic St Valvoline. Each person is more friendly than the next. All are willing to help and they are not pushy at all...I find them honest and informative. I had an issue with a wiper that I had had installed during my last visit and Daniel (the manager) went out of his way to not only check it out, but also to go above and beyond to find out what the problem was, show me what it was and to fix it. Simply amazing! The are a first rate team..each and every one of them.”
“My wife's 2019 Prius only has 19,000 miles on it but the dealer claimed it needed a lot of work. I took it in for an inspection sticker, oil change, and tire rotation and they recommended another $1300 of work. Mark determined that the A/C refresh and brake fluid exchange were not needed. He explained why the rear brakes DID warrant replacement, due to rotor corrosion, and did so at 75% of what the dealer wanted.”

“I had a plastic splash shield hanging down underneath my car and was honestly pretty stressed about it. I stopped by without an appointment, and George took a look right away.
He quickly figured out it was just the splash shield that had come loose, secured it with new clips, and reassured me that everything was good to go. I really appreciated the honesty—no pressure, no unnecessary upselling, just straightforward help.
A big thank you to George for the repair and to Ken for being welcoming and professional. Everyone was kind, efficient, and made what I thought was going to be a stressful (and expensive!) problem feel incredibly easy.

“Front wheel was making a horrible racket, sounding like metal on metal and getting worse over a few days. Who knows what it was. Paul fit me in the next day. But when I dropped it off, naturally the noise was gone. His mechanic took it on the highway and drove it around - they took the wheel off and looked at the brakes and bearing. Concluded that whatever it was, it had resolved - perhaps a rock or something. Didn’t charge me anything but suggested if it comes back to drop it off immediately and they would check it out.”

“My 26 y/o V-8 Jeep came due for its 4000 mile oil change. I brought it in with 7 miles over and I'm glad it reminded me sooner than later, as the oil had gone thin. Evidently, excess oil vapors were being drawn through the PCV and I could smell it from the exhaust. I almost thought it blew a head gasket, but no. After a fresh load of Max Life synthetic, I can feel and smell the difference, not to mention the increased mileage. Thanks to Sam and the crew at the West Roxbury shop for another job well done!”
