“Love our transaction at this place. Customer service was top tier and loved how they got everything out quick and were extremely professional. On top of it all it was affordable. Thank you guys!”
“robust inventory and knowledgeable folks who are willing to spend time helping you. needed some supplies for a DIY project and they were more willing to provide their feedback. will definitely be back!”
“Leah was so kind from the moment I walked into the store. She greeted me right away and helped me find what I was looking for, even going the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of. Andrew so also very helpful which I appreciated.”
“Overall, I shop here a lot and love it.. I usually get great cs from guys like Anderson, Joshua,+++ but there are some reps who go out of their way being rude and downright unprofessional. One guy, Robb, I have noticed refers to himself as a manager yet clearly doesn’t behave or speak like one. Condescending temperament and horrible cs, coupled with poor knowledge of HD practices”
“Deidre was very helpful in accommodating me getting my new fridge and microwave. She also was very kind to all the customers who asked her questions while she helped me simultaneously. She provided helpful advice on the appliances and was very mindful of customer safety when using the electric latter.”
“We went to Home Depot as a class on a community trip on a Wednesday morning. It was a little busy and the trickiest part was the checkout. There were only self checkouts (around 6 maybe), and one checkout with a human. Only 1 self checkout took cash and then the employee at the check out took cash. We were shopping with cash and when it was our turn the self-checkout broke. There were a lot of lines then for people needing to pay with cash. We wished more of the self-checkouts took cash. Overall though, the store had lots of space to get around and didn't seem too crowded.
The employees were nice and helped us find things. Not only did they tell us which aisle to go to but they physically brought us to the item we were looking for. The store was clean and organized, the aisles were well labeled. It did smell a bit like a warehouse/wood working building.
There weren't any deals really, but every product we looked for had a varying amount of prices. This helped with budgeting. In terms of accessibility, the aisles were pretty big and so our friends in wheelchairs could get down them. But there were a lot things in the aisles that we had to go around. There were carts and cleaning floor machines and boxes that were being unpacked. The self checkout was accessible, a good height for someone sitting in a wheelchair to reach. There were automatic doors, so you didn't have to open them yourself, and the whole store was one floor.
At Home Depot we bought a variety of things. We bought numbers to label the house, an exit sign that had braille on it, cleaning supplies, a house plant, soil to plant some seeds we bought and bird seed. Everything was pretty well priced and easy to find.
Overall we had a very good time and got everything we needed. The only thing we wanted that they didn't sell were bird house making kits!”
“This is a review for Kevin. Kevin helped us with our order of a lawnmower. He was super nice and helpful. I hope management will see this and pass along our thanks and promote him and give him a raise :) thanks again Kevin!”
“There are good deals to be had but be ready for quirks. They are very understaffed and inventory changes daily. IMO this is a great option for a 2nd fridge for your garage or basement but trickier for a main fridge.
Before you go:
1. Stabilize your temporary fridge situation. If yours died, borrow a mini fridge to buy you a week. Do yourself a favor and eliminate time pressure from this process.
2. measure your space thoroughly and look at the Lowe’s website for models that would fit and you’d be willing to buy. Maybe look at them at Lowe’s if you’re picky. The outlet ones won’t be fully assembled w drawers etc and staff won’t have lots of context. Know what Lowe’s is charging and what would be a good deal in your eyes.
3. Be prepared to go a few times and see what’s available. Some are dented or scratched but some are pristine and just didn’t fit in the buyer’s space. Staff can tell you when they’re getting a new delivery in.
4. Be prepared for curveballs. The first one I bought turned out not to work. Also the delivery crews are hit or miss in terms of customer service. Scrub your old fridge to pristine condition or they can reschedule if they deem it not clean enough.
5. Have a Plan B fridge you’d buy from a reliable seller in case you don’t find anything that works in a reasonable timeframe.
6. Delivery will give you a 4 hour window and only 10-40 mins lead time for when they are coming. If you miss them it’s a reschedule. Choose Saturday delivery if that will mess with your daily schedule.”
“I would like to thank the cashier Michael Mullen who was so kind to me yesterday when I realized my wallet was gone. He even offered me money in case I needed gas to get home. You have a great employee and more importantly a nice person. I tried to call yesterday but didn’t have any luck getting through.”
“Thank you to Ziad for helping us with our kitchen pantry reno and providing assistance with kitchen cabinet measurements, hardware, and installation advice. Jose in customer service was friendly and ensured we received our orders on time. We also selected porcelain floor tiles made in Turkey and designed by Anatolia Tile Co., which gave our kitchen a touch of elegance. We will be returning for our bathroom DIY makeover.”
“The best materials warehouse I've ever seen in my life. My father would go crazy inside this store. You can find everything, very well organized in any city, well standardized shelves and easy to return unused items. Among other advantages of shopping there.”
“OK, people, you already know. Would you go in the store for one thing it just doesn't happen. There's so many things to get that. You need out of the store, so be careful how you spend, because it will be worth it.( you dig.)!!”
“I am so grateful and proud of this establishment for the vast diversity of individuals they hire! I am delighted that HD values all individuals! Though the wait for customer service is longer than one would first expect - it is well worth it and wonderful to know your small inconvenience is benefitting SO many!”
“I went to Lowe's Dedham the day after Black Friday, when stores were still packed. I found a dishwasher on an incredible deal that fit exactly what I was looking for; one employee was really struggling to set up the purchase for me, since there were none left in stock. They were about ready to give up when another employee, Sean Austin, came over and offered to help. He then spent a solid 20+ minutes with me sorting out placing the order and answering questions; since the vendor couldn't provide ETA estimates over the weekend, he gave me his email and said he'd follow up for me on Monday. He did follow up, and even managed to coordinate an accelerated delivery for me. After an issue with the install team (not Lowes' fault), he did extra work once again to ensure there were no hiccups for my installation. The experience made it feel like I went to a small local appliance shop service-wise - it's not something I've ever experienced at a large global retailer, and I still can't believe how positive an experience it was, especially compared to much less positive experiences at Lowes' primary competitor. I will 100% go to Lowe's for my next appliance thanks to this experience. Thank you Sean!!!”
“Let’s face it, hardware is hardware, but great service is another thing! I go to Hillside for their extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly employees, that and the bitchin’ antique radio playing cool jazz! I live close enough to three other similar stores (2 are Ace & arguably more convenient) but I chose to go to Hillside because Tom, the manager & Jerry, the owner (no cartoon jokes!!) take the time to help me sort out what I need for projects and products. And when I’ve had to return items, I’ve never had to justify myself. The whole staff carries the same helpful, relaxed attitude and it’s obvious that’s something that’s instilled from the top down! Harder to find these days than a left-handed smoke shifter! (You’ll find one in Aisle 2 in the plumbing section in the basement BTW)”
