“Let’s face it, hardware is hardware, but great service is another thing! I go to Hillside for their extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly employees, that and the bitchin’ antique radio playing cool jazz! I live close enough to three other similar stores (2 are Ace & arguably more convenient) but I chose to go to Hillside because Tom, the manager & Jerry, the owner (no cartoon jokes!!) take the time to help me sort out what I need for projects and products. And when I’ve had to return items, I’ve never had to justify myself. The whole staff carries the same helpful, relaxed attitude and it’s obvious that’s something that’s instilled from the top down! Harder to find these days than a left-handed smoke shifter! (You’ll find one in Aisle 2 in the plumbing section in the basement BTW)”

“I just showed up 20 minutes before closing and returned a ridiculous amount of Christmas lights and electrical boxes. The guy working was so patient with me. I had so many receipts and he was more than accommodating.
Also in general this store has gotten a lot better over the last few years. They updated the layout in some sections and have been stocking better items.”

“Definitely in my top 3 Home Depots, ehhh maybe top 5. Parking lot is one of the cleaner ones, haven't found screws in the contractor parking area here ever. There are always carts near the entrance, you don't need to walk all over looking for one. The store has a great layout, a huge selection, great for tools and frequently have deals, some of the better lumber of the home depots, really good plumbing section, electrical, I mean a pretty good selection for every trade and they keep it pretty well stocked. The garden section is pretty nicely stocked too! Honestly when I recommend a home depot this tends to be my first, Westie, Waltham, Watertown, Norwood can't go wrong with that line up. Just stay away from South Bay, Somerville isn't bad but the parking lot is a little dilapidated and your tires catching a screw or two wouldn't be a shock or a surprise lol”

I had gone to several places, hoping to find the earliest delivery date so I wouldn't lose any of the food in my broken refrigerator.
Jenn was, by far, the most helpful and positive person I met (and that includes an employee from a different Lowe's).
Lowe's is a little further away than the competition but I will be making the extra drive for all my home improvement needs in the future.
The management I encountered were also very helpful - a perfect complement to an outstanding employee.
And, finding out dogs are welcome is an added bonus.”
“Always an excellent experience. Every time I walk into the store, I’m greeted with a smile and someone who is always willing to help. Today, we were on the search for missing pieces to complete our paver patio. Corey from the Lowe’s Pro department truly went above and beyond. It wasn’t obvious where the pavers were located in the store and he went on a hunt for me. His communication was excellent and even called me to follow up twice later on in the day. All of the guys at this store truly put in 110%. My husband and I love visiting this Lowe’s compared to all of the other stores in the area! Good job to the hiring committee!”

“We signed up in one of the stores to have fence work done and we’re contacted by J. Andrew‘s Fence company. They did good work on the fence, but the only thing I had a problem with was how long it took to actually get the fence done. Before they first contacted us in September and said they would come out to and do a quote I didn’t show up after scheduling several times. After no one else contacted us I signed up for services again and they contacted us again. Unfortunately, the work was not done until January 2026.”
